Welcome to Stone Mountain Lodge!
Stone Mountain Lodge is located at over 4,000 feet elevation, on a 7-acre private, wooded, and cleared property. This property offers panoramic mountaintop views in both short- and long-range, including Beech Mountain. On a clear, sunny day, you can see for over fifty miles. Beech Mountain Ski Resort, a scenic 17-mile drive away, is visible from the lodge's back decks.
The main floor has hardwood floors with vaulted tongue and groove ceilings. The open concept greatroom features a comfortable sectional sofa with a gas log fireplace, a 55-inch LED Smart HDTV and BluRay player. A wall of windows frames the mountaintop view.
The kitchen features granite countertops, a custom-made travertine backsplash and stainless appliances. It also has a breakfast nook with a view. The formal dining room features a table that can seat ten (10) people. The main floor master bedroom features a king-sized bed, a gas-log fireplace, a 48-inch HDTV with Blu-ray player, a walk in closet, as well as an ensuite bathroom with a double sink vanity, an oversized tiled tub, and a large tiled shower. The main floor also includes a laundry room, which has a washer and a dryer, and a powder room/half-bath.
Upstairs are two queen suites with HDTVs, BluRay players and comfortable futon sleeper couches for relaxation and extra sleeping. There are also walk-in closets and ensuite bathrooms that have jetted tubs. Both queen suites feature vaulted ceilings with tongue-and groove, hardwood floors and dormers with windows that offer mountain views.
The owners just finished an additional sleeping wing in the lower level. This brings the bedroom count up to five (5). There are now four and a quarter (4.5) bathrooms and sleeping accommodations for fifteen (15) guests. The lower-level wing includes a king-size bedroom with HD Smart TV, and a bunk room with a handcrafted twin-over-full bunk bed. Both bedrooms have views from their windows and share a full bath with a large shower and soaking tub with a tiled surround. This addition is of the same high quality and attention to detail as the rest of the lodge. We are thrilled to offer this to future and returning guests. Please see the photos for a better view of this new space. The 3D Virtual Tour doesn't include it.
The open game and movie room downstairs has an 8-foot slate table pool, an air hockey, comfortable reclining sofas and an HD projector television. All five HDTVs, as well as the projector screen, offer satellite TV, DVD and BluRay capability, WiFi and Smart TV. A queen sleeper couch is available downstairs to provide additional sleeping space.
All bedrooms and living rooms have been re-decorated with new lighting, modern, tasteful mountain-chic wall decor, and bedroom decor. The ridgetop views, which were improved by removing trees and overgrowth and now include Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain and many other peaks that were previously hidden, have been improved. These new panoramic views add a lot to Stone Mountain Lodge.
The covered rear deck extends the full width of the home. A stainless gas grill and outdoor dining table are located just outside the kitchen. The large hot tub is located at the opposite end of the deck. The rest of the deck is covered with comfortable and relaxing outdoor deck seats, as well as rocking chairs to create a mountain-life atmosphere. The lower deck gives access to the backyard, and the lower outdoor fireplace. Two fire pits are available, one at the top of the driveway with a stone bench, fire bowl and rustic stump seating, and the other about 25 yards below the house in a clearing. There is a garage attached, as well as ample parking around the lower side of house, in front of garage and near the front entrance. This garage can accommodate six to seven vehicles.
Stone Mountain Lodge is located in Bethel Mountain Community, 18 miles from Boone. Banner Elk is also the same distance away. The NC/TN border and Cherokee National Forest can be reached by foot from the lodge. The lodge is close to Johnson City Mountain City and Elizabethton as well as Watauga lake, Tweetsie Railroad and Grandfather Mountain. All are less than thirty (30 miles) away. The Watauga river is nearby and offers outdoor recreation like tubing and rafting. It also provides fishing and hiking. Beech Mountain Ski Resort and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort are both only seventeen (17 miles) away.
