Welcome to Shady Pines!

Located in Banner Elk, Shady Pines is situated on a wooded lot with breathtaking long range mountain views. Banner Elk Winery is five minutes away and is close to downtown Banner Elk, about ten minutes from the cabin, and offers local shopping, dining, and breweries. Sugar Mountain Resort and Beech Mountain Ski Resort are both about twenty minutes from the cabin, and provide outdoor adventures. Beech Mountain Ski Resort hosts outdoor activities year-round for the whole family. In winter, you will find your favorite activities like skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. In summer, guests can experience award-winning mountain bike trails, hiking, disc golf, and scenic lift rides. The Valle Crucis Community and riverfront park is eight miles down the road, and offers flat walking trails, playgrounds, various ball fields and courts, and access to the river for fishing, wading, and floating. 

Shady Pines is a three-level cabin can accommodate up to nine guests in four bedrooms, with plenty of room to spread out or gather together.  The main level living room features vaulted tongue and groove ceilings and a stacked rock wood-burning fireplace. Curl up on the leather couch to warm up after a day of High Country adventure while watching TV on the Smart TV. The covered back deck, located off the living room, is sure to delight guests with its outdoor dining, gas grill, and long-range mountain views. Hardwood floors seamlessly transition the main level from the living room to the dining room and kitchen. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances where you can cook up a gourmet meal to enjoy at the dining table, with seating for seven. Downstairs is home to a second living area with a large TV and air hockey table. Play a friendly game of air hockey or checkers while watching the big game. The lower level deck has a comfortable seating area where guests can enjoy the fresh mountain air. Relax around the outdoor fire pit and roast marshmallows while sharing stories of your mountain adventures.

Shady Pines is a lovely mountain home featuring four bedrooms where up to nine guests can comfortably sleep. The main floor is home to the master bedroom with a king bed, smart TV, and private ensuite. The ensuite has double vanities and a step-in shower. Downstairs, guests will find two additional bedrooms. Both bedrooms have queens beds and share a Jack-N-Jill bathroom with double vanities and shower. The loft features a cozy bedroom with two twin beds, a full bathroom, and a spacious sitting area with a king sleeper sofa for an additional sleeping spot. The twin bedroom does not have air conditioning.

Additional amenities include WiFi, cable TV, central heating and cooling, a washer and dryer. There is a main floor powder room. Dogs are not allowed at Shady Pines. The cabin is accessed via a gravel road and driveway with parking for three vehicles. Please note that there are exterior security cameras in place. AWD or 4WD and chains are recommended for winter travelers.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
You may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund.  If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival, you will receive a refund of half the amount paid to date.  Cancellations within 30 days before the arrival date do not receive a refund.  If you purchase travel insurance and the reason for the cancellation is covered, you may recover the entire amount.
