You can shop and relax in downtown Banner Elk (a 6 mile drive away) or visit one of the many restaurants in town. Blue Ridge Parkway is a short drive away, as are Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain and Valle Crucis. Boone, Blowing Rock, Boone, Blowing Rock, or Valle Crucis.

It is highly recommended that you bring a 4WD vehicle or an AWD to reach Sugar Mountain. We highly recommend bringing snow chains during winter months.
