Imagine spending a long weekend or a week next to the Rocky Broad River, yet only minutes away from Bat Cave, Chimney rock, and Lake Lure Lake in North Carolina. The cottage is 4.5 mile to the Beach at Lake Lure and 4.2 mile to Chimney rock State Park. Asheville is 22.5 miles away, while the Tryon International Equestrian Center, (TIEC), is 23 miles. Rocky River Retreat is a charming getaway built right on the edge of the river.

Imagine yourself listening to the sounds of nature and the rushing water just a few steps away. This is the ideal spot to enjoy your morning tea or coffee. You can jump in the river for fun or to cool down.

AREA WIDE NOTE: Lake Lure is undergoing a drawdown beginning January 1, 2024 and lasting through the first quarter (March 31, 2024). The lake will be lowered approximately 1 foot per a day until it reaches 12 feet. During this time, infrastructure maintenance, dredging and dam projects will be accelerated. These efforts by the town of Lake Lure could affect the access to the lake or restrict any lake use. Click here for more information. The lake is expected to return to normal levels in mid-late April. We understand that this is an inconvenience but it allows you to enjoy Lake Lure's full beauty during the holiday season and fall. This will not affect smaller lakes in the region, only Lake Lure.

All of our vacation rentals are smoke-free. Dogs (upto 2) are welcome. To avoid additional charges, guests are required to clean after their pets. Parking for two (2) vehicles.Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. local or later. Check-out is at 10:00 a.m. local or earlier.
