A tree-lined residential street just blocks from Higgs Beach on the Atlantic. A three bedroom, two and a half bath home with a private dipping pool. And just blocks from three of the island's best restaurants. The whole scene celebrates a therapeutic kind of quiet and privacy. A Key West dream come true in all senses of the word "dream."

The street view starts with curb-side parking, an iconic white picket fence, lush palm landscaping, and a front porch perfect for greeting sunrise or nodding goodbye to sunset. Once inside, a long hallway with copious windows provides access to two of the bedrooms: the master king bedroom with ensuite bath, a second full bath that opens from the hallway for guests and has double access into the second king bedroom. The hallway then melds into an open floor plan of kitchen, living, dining. And beyond, a perfect wall of collapsible glass doors opening to the alluring pool and patio. Beyond the pool is a separate A-framed structure that provides the third queen bedroom, and half bath with an outside shower.

The Master bedroom features a unique antique four poster bed framed by hardwood floors and the coveted Dade County Pine walls. A stylized, three-propeller ceiling fan whirrs above refreshing the AC or windows-open air flow. Both can be appropriate depending on the season you choose to vacation. Locals frequently open windows morning and evening year-round and use AC midday. The king mattress is ever so comfortable for a good night's sleep or a quick vacation nap during the day. Or maybe you'll choose to stretch out to watch the large screen TV perched on the antique maple dresser opposite the bed. The dresser provides plenty of room for foldable items while a louvered full-length closet is perfect for hanging items and extra bedding. The ensuite full bath has clean lines, turquoise accents, louvered windows, and dual shower system so you can have rain from above or angled water from the wall.

Next in the hallway is the very convenient recessed location for the Samsung washer/dryer hidden behind louvered doors. In fact you hardly notice the closet to your right as you enter the second full bath. All the essentials are here with windows to bring in ambient light and make the room sparkle. A second door opens into the second bedroom. Here too is a unique antique bed that is the focal point of the room. The mattress, as in the Master bedroom, is very comfy. A ceiling fan matching the one in the Master whirrs above. Two chests of drawers and full-length closet are included for folded accoutrements. A large screen TV sits on the dresser opposite the bed for easy watching of the news, a movie, or a sporting event.

After this bedroom is when the hall opens out into the perfect great room. Looking straight, you see through a wall of collapsible glass doors into the delightful pool and patio. The kitchen is equipped with all the conveniences you'd expect from a sophisticated vacation spot. One side is counter space for appliances such as microwave, hooded stove, coffee maker, toaster oven, and refrigerator. Right across is a wide granite island with sink for food prep space and dishwasher underneath for easy clean up. That leaves plenty of space left over to set dinner spaces for four at the bar chairs on the opposite side of the island. Cabinets above and below the counter and the island provide maximum storage for all the cooking accoutrements provided. Overhead are three distinctive accent beams and a wooden ceiling fan. The impression is of space sensibly and elegantly designed.

Beyond the kitchen is the living room area with an overstuffed armchair, L-shaped couch , and coffee table. And of course there's central AC, high-speed internet, and cable TV. Across on the opposite wall is a cabinet and flat screen TV perfectly positioned for viewing from the couch or chair. Sit here for communal viewing, conversation, or to plan where to go next to explore the amazing island of Key West. Or if you are feeling more outdoorsy, maybe it's time to push open the sectional wall of glass and open the house to the deck, pool, and A frame beyond. The pool is a dipping pool or plunge pool not for swimming laps but for wading and relaxing and cooling off. The sparkling blue water adds beauty and interest to the deck area. The triangle sun-shade sail canopy over part of the pool provides shade and UV protection or you can be in full sun if a tan is your aim. Then hop out to dry off on one of the nearby chaise lounge chairs or at the table with market umbrella above. Maybe plan your later return for a BBQ using the gas grill near one end of the pool or plan for something more simple, perhaps for drinks and tizers before you go out for dinner. It doesn't really matter. Whatever you decide, you'll be living your best tropical lifestyle and thanking yourself for it.

Beyond the pool is an A Frame structure. Thanks to great design, this can be used as storage for pool or beach toys. Or if you need that promised third bedroom, you can unfold the queen Murphy bed. An ensuite half bath supplies the sink and commode while the outdoor shower is just adjacent. It's all so convenient.

Besides being a dream vacation residence, this home has the right location on the calmer Atlantic side of the island. Atlantic beaches such as Dog Beach, Higgs Beach, Reach Beach, and Smathers Beach await. If you're hungry there's a Cuban locals' favorite right down the block called El Siboney. Guide books call it the best authentic Cuban restaurant in Key West. About 5 blocks away, The White Street corridor offers restaurants and galleries. Or for something more upscale, head towards Higgs Beach to find Salute on the Beach, Sun-Sun at Casa Marina, or Louie's Back Yard. With over 200 bars and restaurants in town, you'll have your pick.

But never fear you are still within a few blocks of world-famous Duval Street. The fourteen blocks of Duval provide access to tours, museums, galleries, and shopping. Plenty of cultural activities such as live music, art exhibitions, and plays are also plentiful. Perhaps catch a movie on one of the four screens at the Tropic Cinema. Or stop in at Books & Books to catch a glimpse of the author Judy Blume stocking the shelves. And don't forget to set your watch for sunset so you don't miss the world-famous sunset party at Mallory square.
