Or, you can walk two minutes, with no roads, to the private beach for a day at the Gulf.

You are looking for a tranquil and relaxing vacation rental in Destin that is close to the beaches and restaurants and entertainment venues of Destin, but you don't want to spend too much. Southbay by the Gulf Townhome #62 may be just what you need. This 2BR, recently renovated, sleeps 7. It has a king in its master bedroom, a queen in the guest bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa for the living room. Fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, 3 flat-screen TVas, 3 DVD/Bluray, and wireless internet access. A large deck on the upper level is equipped with an electric grill for outdoor grilling. Complex amenities include a 5-acre stocked fish lake, two heated pools (one in winter and one for children), two tennis courts, and a 300-a private beach frontage.

An additional $100 tax-nonrefundable pet fee is required for any dog less than 80 pounds. At check-in, current shot records are required. Southbay does not allow pets on the beach, but it allows them to be kept in the house. Pets are not allowed on the beaches of Destin/Okaloosa County.
