Two large living areas! Ali’i Ohana Hale (Royal Family House), was designed with the nuclear family in mind, although it works well for other arrangements too. The central living / sleeping area is based on the concept of Hawaiian family life. The large kitchen opens to a Great Room, much like a "family room". The 2 queen beds are on the left side of the room. There are two large comfortable bamboo chairs, pillows for those who like sitting on the floor which face the armoire on the right side of the room.
Living Area 1 The formal living / dining room are in an area of its own. Even the keiki (children), have their own "formal" living area, referred to as the "Keiki Corner". If you need to tell your kids, to "get in the corner", they will enjoy the books, games and puzzles stored there! Please see picture. All three of the pictures viewed here, are in the same large area.
Living area 2 The fully equipped kitchen is sectioned off by a breakfast bar, which keeps the area very open.
Adjoing the area are two queen beds are on the left side of room and the armoire and sitting area on right. Kitchen adjacent and opens into Ohana Room. Pleasee see picture, all areas are in one large living area
It is located on Ali’i Drive, which is the road which runs the coast in Kona. There is beach access directly across the street. It is a popular area of fishing.
Ohana Hale is approximately 5 miles to Kona Town. Kona town has the amenities for your vacation, yet, is quiet and quaint enough so you can relax. You will NOT find row after row of night clubs. You will find restraints, eateries, shops and historical points of interest which wind along the Kona Coast.
The Big Island is the youngest in the chain of Hawaiian Islands. A driving trip around the Island will take you to natural sites not seen anywhere else. The Big Hawaii is rich in culture and beauty. We have waterfalls cascading into pools nestled amidst the natural rain forest. Mauna Kea is the highest point in the US. There is skiing in the winter! It also home to Mauna Kea observatory, where there are tours and other educational shows. South Point, the southern most point of the US neighbor to Green Sands Beach (put on your hiking boots!). Don’t forget to walk the crater at Volcano National Parks. Or just walk down the street and snorkel at Kahalu’u beach in the turtle sanctuary. This and much more!
If you are inclined to spending your money, you can parasail, or spending the day fishing on one of the many fishing boats. There are helicopter tours, ATV riding into Waipio Valley, horseback riding or hiking tours. You can kayak or shop at the farmers market or spend the day or week golfing.
Whatever you choose to do, Kailua Kona lends itself well to families and couples alike!

We require a $200 reservation fee to secure the dates of your choice. This fee becomes your refundable deposit, which we will hold un-cashed, if you send us a personal check. We will return to you (less lost keys or damages, if any) after you depart. One half of entire stay is due 7 days after reservation and balance is due 45 days prior to arrival. Cancellation must be done in writing 30 prior to your stay, for full refund, less $200.
