This wonderful vacation rental is just a short five miles away from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with two active volcanoes; Mauna Loa which is not currently erupting and Kilauea which is. Volcano Village is known for it's arts and crafts and has several renowned galleries. The house is situated in a native forest of Ohia trees, majestic tree ferns and wild ginger which smells heavenly.
This is a modern contemporary one bedroom home with an open floorplan. It is beautifully maintained and is warm and inviting. It has two decks to enjoy the outside. One uncovered lanai to catch some sun and one covered if it is misting. The master suite not only has it's own seating area and incredibly comfortable bed but the master bath is a destination in itself with it's two person jacuzzi and beautiful windows to the back yard and forest.
The home is just past the 3000' elevation level so it is often a bit cooler and mistier than the rest of the Big Island so it has it's own magical appeal. Once here you might be tempted to stay. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is an incredible place to explore. You can drive around Kilauea's crater but to really experience the place get out of your car and go for one of the dozens of hikes at your disposal. Chain of Craters road ends near the ocean and from there you can take a walk out to current lava flows. Go at night with a flashlight to see the glow of the lawa, truly and awe inspiring experience.
