HIBISCUS HOUSE is a beautiful, garden paradise in sunny Kapoho!
The extensive grounds include towering coconut palms, papayas, bananas, African Tulip Trees, mangoes, Norfolk Pines, and island flowers.
The home is only a five minute walk to a beautiful protected coral reef which has the best snorkeling, diving, and swimming in the area. The reef protects swimmers from big waves and creates safe swimming even for young children. The reef holds beautiful schools of tropical fish and colorful coral.
Sunny Kapoho, as it is known by the locals, still holds the flavor of "Old Hawaii". Kapoho gets sunshine even when it is raining ten miles away in Pahoa. It is on the eastern most part of the Big Island and is relatively undeveloped for major tourist ventures and thus has the serenity and unmarred beauty of an island paradise.
Still, there is much to see and do that it is possible to fill every day with adventures. Or you can just kick back and enjoy the laid-back lifestyle that is a part of Hawaii's allure.
If you are a large family, you have the option of renting the downstairs to create a hacienda of six bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Beautiful hot pond (geothermal) in State Park 1-1/2 miles! Historic and still active Kilauea volcano is just a short drive away. Visit ancient crater and watch molten lava pouring into the Pacific Ocean. The house has 3/4 acres of landscaped grounds to explore. The tidal pond in the yard is a serene oasis & is a perfect way to cool down in the late afternoon. We have Farmer's markets that are not to be missed! You can buy tropical flowers, fruits & vegetables, local honey and beautiful jewelry, batiks, crystals, wood carvings, and basketry of the Islands..
