Property Information
In the country, yet close to everything...Holiday Valley skiing, Seneca Allegheny Casino, horse accommodations! Alden's acres is on 30 acres in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains of Western New York. The land is comprised of open meadows overlooking the mountains, a 1 acre pond and plenty of hills for hiking. The house is a three bedroom, 1-1/2 bath ranch with plenty of space for eight. It has two large decks with plenty of furniture and a grill. It comes fully furnished; in fact, all you need to bring is your clothes and your horse, if you wish. There are plenty of things to do, summer and winter, without leaving Alden's Acres: hiking, short horse rides, fishing, hunting, picture taking, etc. Less than 10 miles from: skiing at Holiday Valley, golfing, swimming or shopping in Ellicottville, gambling at the new Seneca Allegheny Casino, hiking or horseback riding at the Allegheny State Park. 35 min. from Lake Chautauqua's southern tier.

** We are 6.5 miles from Holiday Valley Ski Resort. We are 10 minutes from the quaint town of Ellicottville's shopping, restaurants and nightlife. We are a 3 hour drive from Cleveland; 4 hours from Pittsburgh, and 1 hour south of Buffalo.

Winter Holiday Rates: $300 per night Thursday through Sunday, $175 per night Monday through Wednesday

Each bedroom has it's own climate control. Bedrooms come with all bedding and linens. Regular and down pillows are available for each bed. Down comforters are also supplied. We also have a sofabed (Queen).
We have a barn for stabling your horses, and plenty of places to ride. Don't ride but still find horses to be beautiful to look at? Well just take a walk out toward the pond, and you are sure to see plenty of mares and their foals from the neighboring farm. We've recently added a few things for rainy days...an arcade quality 'Golden Tee' golf simulation game and a shuffleboard table. There is so much to do for the entire family, many of our renters return again and again! We are seven miles from Holiday Valley Ski Resort & our rates beat those in town. We're 8 miles from the quaint town of Ellicottville, with restaurants and shopping galore. Is gambling or antiquing your idea of fun? We are within five miles of The Seneca Allegheny Casino and several of Western New York's largest antique malls. One reason some people return again and again is to simply do nothing. Relax. Unwind. Western NY is a beautiful area of the state and Alden's Acres is centrally located between skiing, National Parks, gambling and much more. There are activities year-round. Ellicottville is a charming ski town that boasts excellent shopping and dining, and festivals throughout the year.
Barn
We have a 30 x 40 foot barn that is set only 50 feet from the house. There are five stalls; each is approximately 8 x 10 feet in size. The barn is light and airy, and always stays dry. There is plenty of room for storing tack during your stay. There is also plenty of room to park your vehicles and trailers next to the barn.
Feeding and Care
We feel it is in your horses best interest to maintain the same feed that they are used to eating, therefore, we do not supply hay or grain. With prior notice, we can make arrangements to have hay delivered. All stalls have grain bins and water buckets. We do supply plenty of bedding, and we ask that you pick your horse's stall daily and strip stalls prior to leaving. There is plenty of fresh water available for watering and bathing your horses. We have acres of fields behind the barn, but they are not currently enclosed by a fence. Next year, perhaps.
Trails on our property
There are trails on our property, courtesy of an old logging road. Terrain is hilly, but it makes a nice ride when you don't want to trailer out to adjoining trails.
Other Trails
We have miles and miles of trails within minutes of Alden's Acres. State land abuts our neighbor's land, and less than 10 miles away is the Allegany State Park with 90 miles of bridle trails.
Vet Care & Tack
There are several large animal vets in the area as well as a tack shop for last minute needs. We suggest that you bring extras of those things that get lost or broken when you least need it. We have a directory at the house of emergency numbers.
Requirements
The State of New York requires a current Coggins test. The Allegany State Park asks that you use approved riding helmets (ASTM E-1163).
Rates
Rates are $5 per day per horse. If you request to have hay supplied, there will be an additional cost based on the going rate per bale + $1 for delivery per bale.
Testimonials
This was a wonderful place to stay, and we went off-season; I don't even ski. The owners were very accomodating, available, and very nice, even with last minute changes to our reservations, my parents dog needed to accompany us. We are looking forward to our next trip, and the property is beautiful.
