Location: Carmel Highlands, Central Coast, California, USA (20 minutes to Monterey Airport and at beginning of Big Sur)

This is a true villa on a 1 acre estate between Hwy 1 and the ocean. Many wonderful ocean views. Pt. Lobos State Reserve is very near for miles of hikes. The kids will explore forever.
The villa was built in 1953 and reconstructed in 2005. The reconstruction updated and remodeled the villa to bring back the feeling of old California such as the 200 year old stone Mexican arches. If you want to see the historic front door take a look in the Monterey Airport--it is featured on one of the airport posters. One of the hand carved bedroom doors comes from the days of Junipero Serra and the old mission era.
Perfect for family reunions and birthdays with it's five bedrooms and 9 beds. Wander the grounds and gardens of the level one acre estate and play volleyball on the back lawn if you like. Photo opportunities abound under the stone arches or the deck with the ocean and rock caves in the background just a few hundred feet away, a unique experience in Carmel Highlands.Hear the sea lions bark, smell the ocean air, see the waves crash, wander the many gardens with the Pacific in your backyard. The best way to describe the weather is, two seasons of Fall and two of Spring.
Five bedrooms,four full baths, accomodates up to 18.
Lots of parking for all your vehicles within the large iron gates.
Three kings-two queens-two singles-two sofa beds.
Stays include (2) passes to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, daily passes to Pebble Beach, and use of a keyed private beach.
Golf reservations at Pebble Beach, Spyglass, Spanish Bay, and Poppy Hills can be made upon request up to 90 days in advance.
Two minutes to the Hyatt and the 5 star Pacific Edge Restaurant. Clint's place is just around the corner (you can see him there, if your timing is right). For convenience there is the Carmel Highlands General Store within walking distance. Enjoy the wood burning fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom. Unlike any vacation you will have ever taken. You will not want to leave. Pictures do not do the Villa justice.

Gene and I had a magical visit staying at Villa Carmel. It was as if we walked into another place and time. The warmth and charm of the villa created an intimate and cozy feel for just the two of us, yet knowing all the while that the villa accommodates so many more people. As we settled into the house, we were constantly "gifted" with new discoveries and the artistic details of worlds both near and far around the house as the morning passed through the day and into nighttime. We felt we had all of the modern day amenities at our disposal along with the charm of the old European style and charm.
We also loved our strolls exploring the grounds and gardens of Villa Carmel with the same wonder and curiosity. Between the breath taking views of Pt. Lobos and the dramatic sights and sounds of the Oceanscape off the patio; or sitting quietly on the lawn next to the fountain and enjoying the grandeur of the forest of trees, every place around the ground exuded it's own memory.
We have found a very special place in Carmel to relax and unwind and Villa Carmel brought us gifts that we continue to speak of and will for many months to come.

Looks like we discovered a new little gem! Eclectic yet comfortable with charm and warmth, we enjoyed staying at your "Villa" the beaches were beautiful and romantic. We had a wonderful clebration for my mother's 80th birthday. Our family gathered to celebrate the matriarch of our family. Thanks for a lovely time. This is a place for celebrations. I turned 50 here and I couldn’t ask for a more beautiful spot to begin my second half-century. There were fourteen of us all together spanning three generations. Most of our gathering came from the East Coast and they all were treated to the delights of Carmel and Big Sur. We had wonderful family meals around the table it is possible to squeeze fourteen in and a special birthday feast at Pacific’s Edge. We made daily strolls into Pt. Lobos, and each trek was more awe-inspiring than the next. The best though, was the early morning hike to the point overlooking Bird Island. There were otters and seals along with all the Cormerauts and Gulls. Then as we were leaving about 200 yards offshore a pod of something came through. I’ve seen enough dolphins and these did not behave as they. It took me fifty years, but I saw my fist whales in the wild on my b-day. Thanks John for a fabulous trip for my family and me.

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing vacation home with us for our annual Stanford Law reunion. It was like spending a week in a European Villa, with all of the wonderful touches of Old World charm, mixed with modern conveniences to make the stay luxuriously comfortable. Everything at the Villa is as beautiful as the photos on this website, something we have not always found to be true at other vacation rentals, and the home was well maintained and squeeky clean. The location is perfect, as we spent time playing golf at Pebble Beach one day, and took a beautiful drive south along the rugged coast to Big Sur for lunch at Ventana later in the week. The perfect weather and private beach just down the road also made for a number of wonderful, fun memories with our great friends. The Villa was roomy enough to accommodate our large group, and everyone was happy with their accommodations, although I think my husband and I got the best of the best when we had a romantic evening in the master suite in front of a cozy fire when the others went to Montery for a movie. Sitting on the deck in the late afternoon with a nice glass of Cabernet, looking out over the lawn with the bubbling fountain and beyond to the rocky coastline of Point Lobos.....mmmmm pure heaven. The stress of the holiday season just melted away. One night while sitting in the hot tub, two of the couples from the East coast decided that they are seriously considering moving back to California, a testament to the magic your property holds. We all look forward to coming back to make more special memories together at the Villa Carmel Highlands. Thanks again.
