October Ridge Resort is settled on 39 acres with mowed nature trails that tie into thousands of acres of Chippewa National Forest to suit people that have the desire to Hike, Snowshoe, or Cross Country Ski. Our yard is frequently visited by many of Minnesota's Northwoods critters including White Tailed Deer, Black Bears, Grouse, Ducks, Eagles and many more. If you are a night owl, don't be surprised to find the Northern lights showing themselves off with the sounds of the Loons calling and even a Timber Wolf howling once in a while in the background. The Northern Lights are nothing less than spectacular on a cool crisp night from late August to the end of Winter.
For the Winter lovers, we have snowmobile trails that cross our driveway which tie into a network of trails that will send you into some of the most desolate trails in the state where other people and stops are few and far between. We are open all year with full facilities in some cabins. |

DEER HAVEN Cabin 1 is lakeside and the closest to the docks and the beach. It has 2 bedrooms each with a full size bed and a pull out twin bed in the living room. It also has a full bathroom, full kitchen with a microwave,. (Capacity of 5 people) Winterized, Shower and Running water all year.
WOLF'S DEN Cabin 2 is lakeside and has 2 bedrooms each with a full size bed. It has a full kitchen with a microwave, and a full bathroom. (Capacity of 6 people) Winterized, Shower and Running water all year.
THE NORTHERN FLIGHT Cabin 3 is lakeside with 2 bedrooms each with a full size bed and a pull out twin bed in the living room.. It also has a full kitchen with a microwave, and a full bathroom. (Capacity of 5 people) Winterized, Shower and Running water all year.
BEAR'S DEN Cabin 4 is lakeside with 2 bedrooms each with a full size bed and a pull out twin bed in the living room. It also has a full kitchen with a microwave, and a full bathroom. (Capacity of 6 people) Winterized, Shower and Running water all year.
THE EAGLES'S NESTCabin 5 is a newly remodeled Smoke Free one bedroom Cabin with all handmade Log furniture including a full size log bed in the bedroom and a full size Log futon in the living room, a full kitchen with microwave, stove, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker etc, full bathroom. This cabin while not lakeside has nice view of the lake and is a Very Nice rustic cabin with modern facilities. (Sleeping Capacity 4 people Rated for 2) Winterized, Shower and Running water all year.
MOBILE HOME This is our roomiest unit with it being lakeside and having 2 bedrooms each with a full size bed and a pull out Queen in the living room. It also has 2 other couches in the spacious living room with a color TV. It has a full bathroom and a spacious full kitchen with a microwave. (Capacity of 6 people) Winterized, Shower and Running water all year.

Island Lake offers the fisherman plenty of opportunity with its 3,088 acres of some of Minnesota's best Walleye, Northern, and Jumbo Perch fishing. The lake also has Muskie, Largemouth Bass, Crappie, and Bluegills present. While Spring, Early summer, Fall, and Winter are best, the summer also has plenty of opportunity. We have been fishing Island Lake for over 30 years and will gladly point you to the best areas.
With thousands of acres of National Forest next door, this area holds the State record Bear and countless opportunities for Deer, Bear, Ruffed Grouse, and Duck hunting is outstanding when the Northern flight passes through. Ask about our guide services available.
We have two campsites, each with water, electric, and sewer. They are nestled back in the corner of the yard with woods on two sides overlooking the entire yard which includes our fire pit and pond. We also have have tent sites and a shower available for the camping sites. |
