“Our Place to Paws” is only a few years old and great thought and care went into building this mountain home.  You’ll savor the details – custom cabinets, stainless farmhouse sink and appliances, double wall ovens, tile backsplash, gorgeous granite counters with a raised bar made from a thick slab of wood, the wood floors, and the stacked stone fireplace, just to name a few things that’ll wow you as you settle in.

Let’s start with the outdoor space. Spread out with family and friends on the spacious open deck from which you can hear the stream, and from the downstairs game room, you can hike into the woodland setting and to the fire pit by the creek.

Inside, the vaulted beamed ceiling adds architectural interest, and the wood walls ensure this modern cabin still has rustic appeal. The cabin’s spaces are generous, and stunningly decorated. We’ve already mentioned a few of the kitchen’s details, and in this open floor plan the cook is part of the action with bar seating for five. We love the rock surround at the bar, bringing nature inside. Warm wood floors run throughout, reflecting the light.

The skillful design continues into the living area, where the wood-burning fireplace’s stacked stone adds more nature and soars two stories.  Super comfortable chairs and sofa are where you’ll want to settle in after a long day of exploring, warming yourselves by the fire.  If you are wondering what the tall cabinet built-in to a corner of the room is – it’s extra bedding in the form of a queen size Murphy bed!
 
On the main floor you’ll find two bedrooms, one a master with en suite bath (and lovely stone counters), and another which access the hall bath. Both beds have comfy queen-sized mattresses.  The master suite is upstairs, with a king-sized bed, a separate tiled shower and footed soaker bathtub and gorgeous counters on the double-vanity with plenty of storage for an extended stay. Because we promise, you won’t want to leave!

And there’s more! Downstairs the fourth bedroom has another king-sized bed along with a bath. Did we mention that all the bedrooms have televisions with Amazon's vast inventory to choose from and Satellite TV service with all your favorite networks?

Downstairs also features game / media room with gas fireplace, pool table, card table for the avid card sharks in your group, ping pong in garage, two TV’s, wet bar with ice maker, dishwasher, refrigerator, sink and Keurig!

Where is this spectacular mountain cabin located? Just 10 minutes to the Jeffersons’ shops, restaurants, galleries and festivals. From this location, you can explore the beautiful scenic areas of the northern part of Ashe County. The village of Lansing, with its monthly “Music in the Barn” series (in the summer-fall) is just 10 minutes west. While there, walk along the river, and try a tasty pizza at Pie on the Mountain.

Grayson Highlands State Park, with its wild ponies, gorgeous views, hiking trails and antique cabins is less than 40 minutes north.  Mount Jefferson offers striking views, trails, a picnic area is only 20 minutes away.  If you love to bicycle, you can pick up the eastern end of the Virginia Creeper Trail in White Top (42 minutes away) From White Top the trail is downhill, and if you aren’t up for a climb back to your car, consider our preferred route – starting in Damascus and which is just an hour away. It’s mostly level out and back for miles along the most beautiful creek and through stunning farmland.

There are external cameras monitoring the public areas outside of the house.

Dogs Welcome!  Must be well behaved, leash/crate trained, 2 years or older and 45lbs or less.  $50 / per pet. 2 dog limit.
