The Manager's House at Hale Pohaku is another one of our authentic plantation homes, this time from the 1950s. It can be rented either as a 4 bedroom/2 bath home, or as a 5 Bedroom, 3 bath Poipu vacation home.
Ocean views abound from the living room and screened in lanai.
The floors of this authentic fully-renovated plantation home are the original beautifully well kept hardwood. The banquet style dining room seats eight, while the kitchen features both a large breakfast bar and another table and chair seating for four. An additional dining area on the screened lanai, next to the large outdoor barbeque grill, allows you to enjoy your dinner al fresco, while taking in the glorious Poipu sunset.
The kitchen includes a gas stove and oven, cookware, plates and utensils, and a full-sized dishwasher. We've done our best to provide you with just about every appliance you could need, including a thermal carafe coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, blender, hand mixer, iron (and ironing board) and hair dryer. Adjacent to the kitchen is the full-sized washer and dryer.
All of the queen bedrooms feature beautiful pineapple beds. One queen bedroom includes private access to the smaller of the bathrooms, with a shower stall. That bedroom, along with the adjacent twin bedroom, both have large outdoor patios accessible through the sliding glass doors.
One bathroom includes a tiled tub/shower combination, while the other has a shower stall. Both shower areas feature handheld attachments.
There are lots of windows throughout letting in the gentle trade winds that will keep you comfortable year round. All rooms feature ceiling fans.
Upon checking in, you will be greeted with a welcome gift of bottled water and Hawaii coffee and tea for your first morning's breakfast. Toiletries provided include shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap and shower gel. |

With the Studio Suite (maximum 10 guests):
$550 per night with a 7 night minimum stay
$600 per night with a 2 night minimum stay
Cleaning fee: $250 without the studio suite, $325 with the studio suite
Security deposit: $100

Poipu Beach is perhaps the most idyllic seaside retreat that you can hope to find anywhere.
Poipu Beach, only a few seconds' walk from Hale Pohaku, is a set of half moon shaped small bays that offer great fishing, snorkeling, swimming, wading and surfing. There are several barbeque areas with picnic tables, showers and restrooms, and plenty of room to play in Poipu Beach Park. Life guards are on duty and there is small bay where children can safely play and swim. Across the street from the park is a package store and Deli, gift shop, and a seafood restaurant up stairs.
The Travel Channel recently chose Poipu Beach as the best beach in the country for its unspoiled beauty, sandy gentle swimming lagoon, gorgeous sunsets, friendly people, and excellent weather.
