Please note that while a hot tub is shown in the photos, there is not currently a working hot tub.



The home features an open living area with skylights, artful accent lighting, leather furnishings, a Harmon Kardon Bluetooth speaker, a quick switch gas log fireplace, and a 55-inch flat panel Smart HDTV that can be used with all streaming apps.  It also has a full dining area which seats 6 for meals and another smaller card table for playing games or doing puzzles.  Each table overlooks the river. There is a rustic wooden desk, and a fully-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counters. The living room has a queen-size sleeper sofa, as well.



A master bedroom with a queen bed and Roku Smart TV and a private bath with a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower is off the main living area.  A second bedroom with queen size bed is also off the main living area, with access to the full bathroom to be used for overnight guests and visitors.   

Off the main dining area, is a small alcove that leads to the deck overlooking the river.  A quaint sitting area allows for reading by the sounds of the river or hop on the Peloton, provided by the owner for use, if you have an account.  (Guests must bring their own clip-on shoes). 

Out on the upper deck, there is a gas grill and a table for four overlooking the river. On the lower patio, the soothing rocking chairs await, surrounded by privacy fencing and the sights of the river a few feet away. There is a small level yard area, edged by a retaining wall by the river equipped with seating and a fire pit. Soak in the river and cool off on a warm day, or just relax while you cast your lure into the river and reel in the big one--the trout fishing is reportedly excellent.



Perfectly located between Boone and Blowing Rock, this lovely riverside cabin is the perfect retreat from life’s hectic pace. Very convenient to Downtown Blowing Rock (7 miles), Boone (2 miles), ASU (3 miles) Tweetsie Railroad (1.4 miles) and Appalachian Ski Resort (2.5 miles), and convenient to all other High Country Attractions.

The Story Behind the Name:

When I found this cabin, I immediately fell in love with it.  The location alongside the branch of the New River and the view off the back deck took my breath away, not to mention the wonderful upgrades that had been done.   The house spoke to me, and I simply had to have it.  Now it is one of the few places in the world where I can truly relax.  The sound of the river, the cool breezes, and the convenient location are just perfect.  It has become my retreat from the crazy pace of life.  Because of this special location and what the house means to me, what better name than “Rippling Water Retreat”.

Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.



PET FEE: $25 PER NIGHT PER PET. Mature, Well-Trained Dogs 20lb And Under Only, Please. Pets are to be kept in a doggie playpen or crated when people are away.

The Peloton is absolutely not to be used by children. Guests may use it with their own account, and must bring their own clip-on shoes. 

There are full time residents on this street. Guests are asked not to trespass onto neighbors' property and keep voices at a respectful level when outdoors.
