A visit to Burnsville for groceries or dining is a quick 13 minute drive, and from there it's an smooth commute to I-26 and Asheville (46 min.). There are several festivals in the area, including the Soulshine Farms Music Festival, the Carolina Mountain Literary Festival, and the Mt. Mitchell Crafts Fair, held annually on the historic Burnsville Town Square. Important Property Notes
The Chicken Coop is close enough to the river to walk there! Please use the road, not the steep stairs that go down the mountain from the cabin to the road. Guests with young children should be cautious regarding the dangerous incline of the stairs.
While there is no central A/C, the home is usually kept very pleasant by the elevation, shade, and breeze. There are two fans and a window A/C unit upstairs for guests who prefer it a little cooler for sleeping.
4WD/AWD Recommended in Winter
During the winter months and inclement weather, a 4WD/AWD vehicle is recommended to access this property. Please ensure your vehicle has sufficient clearance (i.e. SUV, Truck, or raised sedan). Low-clearance vehicles with 4WD/AWD are not recommended. For the extra effort, however, you are rewarded with seclusion, beauty, and a lot of fun just getting there!
No Mountain Discovery Pass: Please note that The Chicken Coop does NOT include the Mountain Discovery Pass (the included Biltmore Ticket or other seasonal activities). We hope that you enjoy the low rental prices and beautiful area, even though these gifts are not included at this property!

Please note that this propertys Non-Refundable Period is 31 days prior to arrival. If your reservation is made within this period, it will be non-refundable from the time of booking.
