Life is better at 3000 feet!  Come relax in the mountains with the cool temps offered by elevation! Located close to the village of Todd, in southeast Ashe County, you’ll love the access to the South Fork of the New River just a short walk away at the Todd Island Park, where you can fish, wade or tube to your heart’s content. This community offers a lake with a picnic pavilion for more water options.



The cabin features ample outdoor living space – open decks on the front and back of the means, depending upon the time of the day, you can choose sunshine or shade in the woodland setting which offers seasonal views of the river. There’s also a balcony off one of the upstairs bedrooms, and a large covered deck off the family room, allowing you and your guests to scatter for alone time, or gather together, as each space is big enough for a party, except for the balcony, which is perfect for tea for two.



In the evenings, your family and friends will enjoy the fire pit or you can compete in a friendly game of air hockey in the family room, or choose from one of the many other games available. Or in cooler weather, light a fire in the living room fireplace and settle in for an evening with a movie. The selection includes local network stations, Netflix and more. And when your group can’t agree what to watch, you’ll be pleased to discover another TV in the family room, and one in each of the three bedrooms.



An open floor plan keeps the flow in the public rooms, where you’ll find a full kitchen with everything you need for a weekend or a week or more. Gather round a dining table for 8, or chill on the comfortable leather sectional sofa which opens to the elevated deck.



Downstairs the den offers an air hockey table / ping pong table and a futon for extra sleeping. You’ll find a large dedicated laundry room, too.



In addition to the futon, the home features three bedrooms, one on the main floor with a comfy king-sized bed, and 2 more bedrooms upstairs. One of those features a second king-sized bed, and the other has 2 fulls and opens to the balcony. For everyone’s convenience, there’s a bathroom on each floor.



With so many of us traveling with our dogs, we wanted to make sure you knew that your dogs are welcome at Serenity 3K.



Location, Location, Location



That’s the mantra in real estate, and it applies to vacation rentals, too.  This cabin is only minutes from the celebrated village of Todd and the heartbeat of the community - Todd Mercantile - a bakery, café and gallery where Helen and her staff will tempt you with deliciousness. If you are here for one of their dances, an invitation to join in stands for everyone. If you yearn for adventure, just around the corner is the River Girl Fishing and Outfitters, and they’ll set you up with kayaks, canoes, inner tubes, bicycles and bait and tackle.



We love the location of this cabin for day trips to enjoy the shops, restaurants, antiquing in Boone or West Jefferson, about 20 minutes in either direction. If you’re here in the winter, you can be at Appalachian Ski Mountain in 35 minutes. The Zipline and Snow Tubing at Hawks Nest are 50 minutes south. The cabin is about ten minutes to jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway for some of the most amazing views in the Carolinas. Head north and visit Doughton Park and the historic Brinegar cabin (milepost 238) or head south to milepost 294 and visit the Moses Cone Manor and the Parkway Craft center. Your options for exploration are bountiful. If you go to Moses Cone, bring a picnic lunch then stop in for a stroll through Blowing Rock.



AWD and 4WD ONLY in driveway, all others park at the bottom. Driveway is short and steep.



Dogs Welcome!  Must be well behaved, leash/crate trained, 2 years or older and 45lbs or less.  $50 / per pet. 2 dog limit.
