Property Information
Come enjoy our cozy beach home here in the center of Hawaii's most beautiful bay. The beach is three blissful miles of white sand bending into a perfect horseshoe. The bay snuggles up to the Hanalei Mountains , which themselves are clothed in lush vegetation laced with spectacular waterfalls. Hanalei Bay is known for its great surf in the winter: inspiring to watch, thrilling to ride. In the summer, the bay becomes a giant mirror of calm water - fun for swimming, paddling, and just floating on your back, dreaming, and looking at rainbows and waterfalls. The act of walking along the Bay at sunrise or sunset is both romantic and soul-nourishing.
We, the Kobayashi Family, invite you to share the beauty of our island home.
Hanalei Moon Beach Cottage is named after the famous Hawaiian song "Hanalei Moon," which extols the extreme beauty and romance of the Hanalei Valley under the tropical night sky.
The cottage is located on the quiet end of town on Weke Road, right on the beach, within walking distance of all the restaurants, shops and galleries. Snorkeling, swimming, diving, paddling, hiking, golfing and a health club are all as close as your front yard, to as far as a 10 minute drive away.
Walk across your front yard to the sand and look to the left; you're likely to see no one for a mile. Look to the right and you'll probably see surfers, volley ball players and beach-goers, with the Hanalei Pier at the far end of the Bay in the background.
We have a little telescope in the living room so that you can better see boats, whales, turtles and dolphins ply the Bay by day and enjoy the moon and stars at night. If you're lucky, you may see a moon bow, something I have only seen in Hanalei. It will happen on a night when there are stars, moon and clouds together. If the clouds are sailing by on the gentle trade winds and shedding some tears, the rain will be illuminated by the moon shining from the cloudless part of the sky. Talk about breathtaking!
Depending on the brightness of the moon, you may discern the colors of the rainbow.

Hanalei Moon Beach Cottage $250 / night, $1600 / week
(unobstructed ocean view), based on occupancy of 2 or less.
Additional guests are $15/night, $90/week each
Add taxes of 11.42%, cleaning fee of $100
and security deposit of $250 to be returned after you leave in good order
