In Hawaii on the island of Kauai there is a vacation rental that few visitors ever have the opportunity to experience first hand-- the beautiful Makaleha Mountain Retreat at the foot of the Makaleha Mountain Range. For the first time ever, the Makaleha Mountain Retreat, and The Garden Studio is open as an exclusive guest accommodation during the Summer and Fall Seasons.
There are many beautiful places to stay on Kauai, but what makes "The Retreat" worth your consideration? Well to be perfectly honest, it's not any one thing..... it's Everything.
From the moment you arrive, you will know you have found what you came for: a clean and comfortable Cedar Home with a host of ammenities, intense mountain views, cool breezes, majestic waterfalls, crystal clear mountain streams, technicolor rainbows, and above all, lots of privacy.
There are lots of fascinating things to do here as well. Take a walk up to the end of the road to see the waterfalls close up, or go for a swim in the Mountain Pools in the heat of the day. If you're up to it, you can even take a hike through the valley and the Bamboo Forest to the fresh water springs.
The Retreat is only a ten minute drive to the Beach or Kapa'a Town--with its restaurants, convenient shopping, and more. We have beach equipment for you to use and a large outdoor shower, for when you return from the Beach.
In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, the air is filled with the sweet scent of white and yellow ginger blossoms -- which grow in great numbers along the mountain road and nearby stream. The Yellow Ginger, or "Awapuhi Melemele" Ginger is known for its young juicy Awapuhi bulbs, which can be squeezed into your hair and used as a natural conditioner.
No day is ever exactly the same at The Retreat. At times the landscape is bathed in golden sunlight, and sometimes it's shrouded in mist; each day holds something special and each moment is different from the next. There is so much to appreciate at the Retreat that you may find yourself coming back again and again. It's a VERY special place - for people who appreciate comfort, nature, and variety.

The Makaleha Retreat is a two Bedroom and one Bathroom Cedar home which can accommodate up to six people.
The Rate for two people is:
$165/nightly, with a three night minimum
$15/person/night over two people
(All rates are subject to 4% excise and 7.5% State room Tax)
Not available from december 1 to may 1 main theatre house
the �garden studio� $60 per night $350 weekly & can be rented all year round

he Makaleha Mountain Retreat is a custom two bedroom, one bath Cedar Home built shortly after Hurricaine Iniki (1993). The house has large windows and vaulted ceilings throughout, with beautiful views from every window. The decks go around the entire house.
The house is spacious and comfortable. Here is a list of its features:
