The Chestnut Hill Room:
Named for Asheville's oldest historic district where the Inn is located, the Chestnut Hill room is on the first floor, tucked behind the original set of pocket doors. The beautiful 4-poster king-size bed gives this room a sense of elegance. The working gas fireplace is adorned with Wedgwood pieces that complement the blue and white toile fabrics. The small private bathroom has been updated and includes a shower and a new ceramic tile floor.
Sunday - Thursday: $144
Weekends & Special Events: $169
The Iron Horse Room:
Southern Railway’s introduction of the first steam locomotive, “Iron Horse”, brought more sophisticated visitors to Asheville. The centerpiece of this first floor room is the hand-carved queen size mahogany bed complete with steps to boost you into heavenly comfort! The large windows bring in cheerful sunlight from the side garden. At night, the gas fireplace gives this room a warm glow. The updated private bathroom is complete with a shower.
Sunday – Thursday: $144
Weekends & Special Events: $169
The Wall Stree Room:
Asheville's Wall Street is unlike the hectic Wall Street in Manhattan. Quaint & narrow, it is lined with boutiques & restaurants and is a favorite place for outdoor art shows and impromptu concerts. This room is the most popular of our smaller rooms and is highlighted with a stunning federal style queen size canopy bed. The view includes an up close look at an award winning Dogwood tree and a view of downtown Asheville when the leaves have fallen. The small private bathroom is complete with a shower.
Sunday – Thursday: $144
Weekends & Special Events: $169
The Grove Park Room:
Dr. Edwin Wiley Grove, the St. Louis pharmacist, was famous for his Grove's Chill Tonic to ward off a cold. Like many others in the early 1900's, he was drawn to Asheville for health reasons. Once here, he built his dream inn, the Grove Park, which can be seen from this room during the winter and early spring. Just like the early visitors to Asheville, you too can relax and rejuvenate yourself in this newly remodeled room that features a ceramic tile shower with rain showerhead, a queen-size bed and a 32" LCD TV.
Sunday – Thursday: $144
Weekends & Special Events: $169
The Blue Ridge Room:
The Blue Ridge Mountains were named for the blue-gray haze that veils the rolling hills. Cool, crisp mountain air and timeless natural beauty continue to draw flocks of vacationers to the city of Asheville. The Blue Ridge room is the ultimate in comfort with a working gas fireplace and a bay window that offers an idyllic nook for reading. The stylish décor has a cherry, 4-poster, king size bed as its focal point. And its private bathroom is complete with a shower.
The Beaucatcher Suite:
Asheville tradition says that the girls of the Asheville Female College gave Beaucatcher Mountain its name because they would steal away to the mountaintop to meet the young male students from Colonel Stephen Lee’s school. This large suite, located on the second floor of the cottage behind the main house, is a perfect romantic hideaway. It is not as old as our historic inn; however, it provides our guests with all the modern amenities.
The hardwood floors highlight this recently remodeled suite complete with a living room, sofa bed, gas "wood-burning" stove, sink, mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, and a table/chairs where you can enjoy your morning coffee. The large bedroom boasts a queen-size iron bed, television, and a comfortable chair for relaxing. The bathroom’s 2-person Jacuzzi and plush robes create the ultimate romantic experience.
The Biltmore Room:
George Washington Vanderbilt's Biltmore Estate, a grand French Renaissance chateau, is America's largest private residence. As you enter the Biltmore room, the luxurious 4-poster, queen-size bed immediately catches your eye and invites you to relax and unwind.
The room affords a magnificent view of the award-winning sugar maples on the grounds and a wintertime view of downtown Asheville. The spacious bathroom with tiger oak vanity, complete with a 2-person Jacuzzi and plush robes, is a treat seldom found in an historic home of this vintage.
The Zen Retreat:
This newly remodeled room is not only a place to lay your head, but an experience all in itself. The Zen, the only room on the third floor of the Inn engulfs you with a sense of calm.
The king size bed and three window seats beckon you to relax among the pillows, while the gentle trickle of the fish tank soothes your senses. Let your cares melt away in your private steam room complete with rain showerhead and plush robes. The room also includes a LCD TV, DVD player and collection of movies. The Zen Retreat reflects the laid-back attitude for which Asheville is famous.
We welcome you to travel to the Chestnut Street Inn and experience the relaxed and laid-back atmosphere of our luxurious Asheville, NC accommodations. Enjoy the individual personality of your room or suite, all with private baths, fine bath amenities, air conditioning, satellite TV, XM radio and wireless Internet access. Some of the rooms in our North Carolina bed and breakfast indulge you further with Jacuzzi tubs, comfortable sitting areas and gas fireplaces with original mantles and hearths. Before you turn in, perhaps you would like to relax on one of the beautiful porches and enjoy an evening under the stars. Then climb into bed and enjoy a great night’s sleep that comes so effortlessly in the mountains.
At the Chestnut Street Inn, a North Carolina Bed and Breakfast Inn, we eat with all of our senses. Breakfast is not a detour from your travels; it’s a stop along the way. Although you'll find us in Asheville, NC, we find inspiration for our three-course breakfast menus from all corners of the United States.
Whether its Northwest smoked salmon scrambled eggs or a Southwest breakfast burrito, the melody of colors, aromas and flavors will please your senses.
Our Hawaiian breakfast is always a crowd pleaser, with fried rice and eggs, tenderly marinated choice cut sirloin and grilled pineapples.
And, of course, we include savory Southern breakfast recipes such as southern grit soufflé with homemade biscuits.
Fresh breads and fruits are a perfect start to your day of exploring. The coffee is always brewing and the juice is always flowing.

The scenery is beautiful in Asheville, NC in the fall and there are so many sites to visit. Relaxing on the front porch enjoying the autumn colors and hiking at Chimney Rock are just two of our favorite things to do. The colorful leaves and the smell of our seasonal breads will put you in the autumn mood. The leaves may bring you to Asheville, but the charm of the city and the Inn will bring you back.
We're always making improvements to the Inn. We thought you might enjoy a peek behind the scenes at the Grove Park during remodeling this spring.
