For our friends within driving distance, this means being able to drive to the coast in the comfort of your own vehicle, prepare your meals in a well-provisioned kitchen, and sleep in your own private vacation home, thereby avoiding more communal environments. Cleanliness and safety in our homes is always our number one priority, and I want to personally assure you that we have expanded our already strict cleaning protocols and added additional housekeeping staff to take extra precautions between guests. We are sanitizing all high touch surfaces such as door knobs, light switches, faucets, and handles and opening windows and doors to allow fresh salt air to circulate, and we have outfitted each rental with disinfectants that can be used by guests that are in-house.

I had an amazing stay at this place. Even though it was fall into winter I took walks down to the beach that were incredible and loved the village that offers breakfast and lunch at a local cafe, and a pizza place that serves not just pizza but burgers and has an incredible salad bar. Most of all I loved the community of Seascape. Every walk I took everyone said hi.

We stayed for 5 nights at Seascape Retreat in July and had a great time. The host was very accessible for any questions we had regarding check-in. The location was good. The house is in a neighborhood cul-de-sac about a 10-15 min walk to one of the beaches, however we drove to a few of the more frequently used area beaches. We didn't have a problem driving, but keep this in mind if you want to ditch the car for a few days. There are a couple of restaurants and shops nearby, but we opted to explore Aptos and Santa Cruz for our dining out (we found some great restaurants in these areas). The house itself was well appointed with plenty of space. It is attached to another property, kind of like a duplex. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to consider bringing earplugs or a white noise machine as the walls are pretty thin and the neighborhood goings on were heard throughout the stay. Some beach accessories would have been welcomed as we did not travel with any (ie. chairs, more beach towels, some beach toys), but we purchased a few and left a chair there so hopefully a future guest will benefit. Overall, it was a good location to visit all of the Bay Area cities and sites (Monterey, Carmel, Santa Cruz).
