This extraordinary property is located on a ridge 45 feet above the Caribbean. The views of both oceans are truly breathtaking. From your large windows and extensive decks, you can watch the sun rise over the Atlantic and set over the Caribbean. Both views are vast and spectacular with sparkling sea as far as the eye can see up and down the coast.
Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side, Buttonwood has a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine, without a single house on it. This Atlantic side beach is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. The condominium comes with a fleet of golf carts. This miles-long beach is virtually private for us, because the only other access is a rough and little used jeep track half a mile to the south. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach, which has excellent snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and jumping on our new water trampoline! This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but it’s as calm as a lake most of the time and perfect for the above activities.
If you’re not in the mood for a swim in the ocean on one of our two beaches, slip into our resort-style pool, just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round.
Buttonwood Reserve consist of eight 2-bedroom, 2-bath condos with full kitchens, and the Main Lodge, which is the central gathering place for the property. The Main Lodge includes a large ocean-view living area, dining area that can seat up to 36, an extra-large kitchen with two ranges, two ovens, and two refrigerators, and a vast deck overlooking the caribbean. The Main Lodge also has a bedroom with a king bed and an ocean view, one bath, and a couple of sleeping lofts suitable for teenagers.
Each condo features a large great room with an 8-foot sliding glass door with spectacular Caribbean views. The slider opens onto a large deck furnished for lounging or dining while watching the sun set over the Caribbean. This spacious deck extends around the corner of the building for views in every direction. The great room includes a living area with flat-screen satellite TV and a dining area with seating for six. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction.
The master bedroom of each condo features a large upholstered window seat with panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or a morning coffee. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the west deck over the Caribbean.
The guest bedroom of each condo also features a large window seat. The guest bedrooms of the upper two suites enjoy spectacular Atlantic Ocean views. The guest bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). The guest bedroom is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king.
Situated on 50 lush acres, Buttonwood Reserve extends from the Caribbean Sea on the west to the Atlantic Ocean on the east. Buttonwood’s spectacular three-mile Atlantic beach is pristine, without a single house on it. The only structures are the thatched palapas built on the dune and beach for shade. Enjoy long walks, swimming, and body surfing on this beautiful beach. On windy days there will be waves. On calm days, when the ocean can be as flat as a lake, there is excellent snorkeling, including on a shipwreck close to shore.
Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board. Bicycles are also provided for riding to the nearby village, less than a mile away, which has two grocery stores and several small restaurants and take outs. The new LeoRose Beachfront Bar and Grll is just half a mile away. The main town, Governors Harbour, is just 15 minutes away.

We rented out the entire Buttonwood Reserve and it was a wonderful place for our group of 36 to vacation! Centrally located in the middle of Eleuthera, we could get anywhere we wanted to go in within an hour or less. We rented cars at the airport to make it easy to get around. We also hired a wonderful chef for the week for our dinners and it was great to all eat together in the main lodge and to see the beautiful sunsets each night! The main lodge gave us a central spot to gather and play games together when we weren't in our individual condos. The pool was a really nice place to hang out and was very clean. It is quite shallow in the shallow end, which was perfect for our toddlers! All the condominiums were very attractively decorated, comfortable and clean with beautiful views!! The beds were very comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful! We went to nearby James Cistern for groceries, the bakery, bottled water, etc. We also went there for Delish Lifestyles and LeoRose beach bars in the afternoons a few times. That was lots of fun! Governors Harbour was a reasonable drive and we went there for Tippy's Beach Bar, the ice cream shop and for a very nice lunch at the French Leave Resort. We also spent a great day at French Leave Beach. We visited several of the other nice beaches in the area and took a FABULOUS excursion with Captain Kid and Sons out of Gene's Bay Ferry Dock. So many fun things to do that we couldn't do it all. As always, we had a few challenges but they worked out fine and overall it was a GREAT trip!

We had the most excellent stay at Buttonwood, the place was beautiful, clean, and any issue we had was quickly addressed. We look forward to coming back to visit again. The location on the island is perfect for visiting both the north and south of the island but we quickly learned there was hardly any reason to go far from the property as there were excellent beaches close by and some excellent fresh food options just down the road at delish!
