Property Description

Welcome to Palmetto House, a brand new (April of 2024) home located in the community of Wykee Estates near Governors Harbour.  Wykee Estates has a spectacular, mile-long pinkish sand beach, a beautiful salt water pool, which you will usually have to yourself, and excellent snorkeling on its Caribbean-shore, with easy access from its private boat ramp.  Palmetto House has a new PRIVATE pool, just completed!  The pool can be heated for a fee of $25 per day if desired.

Pascal’s beachfront restaurant with its famous swim up bar is a short walk down the beach from Wykee Estates.  Palmetto House comes with a golf cart!  Hop on your private golf cart for easy access to Pascal’s, the beach, and the Wykee Estates community.

Palmetto House is nestled in a grove of trees and elevated to create a delightful treehouse ambience in all rooms.  The sublime redwood deck overlooks a private garden with a fire pit and is furnished for lounging or swinging on the porch swing.

Inside, this professionally decorated home features a large open-plan great room. The luxurious island kitchen is fully equipped and finished in quartz and stainless steel.  

The dining area has seating for six, plus four seats at the kitchen island.

The living area is equipped with a sleep sofa, chairs, and a 65-inch flat screen TV.

The master bedroom is furnished with a king bed and has a full en-suite bath with walk-in shower.  The master bath steps out onto a private enclosed deck with a spectacular copper soaking tub from which you can enjoy the warm Bahamian sun or the spectacular array of stars at night.

The guest bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and access to a full bath with walk-in shower across the hall.  This bathroom can also be accessed from the great room.

Palmetto house has a sofa bed in the living room in case you have a party of more than four.  (Extra charges apply for more than 4 guests.)

Palmetto house has AC throughout, washer and dryer, WIFI, and a complete whole-house water filtration system so you can drink the tap water, and a whole-house back-up generator to keep comfortable if the power goes out.  We have a charcoal grill for outdoor grilling, as well as a fire pit.

The town of Governors Harbour, the main town on the island, just five minutes by car from the property, has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor.  You can buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street.  You won’t want to miss it.
