You can’t have the perfect vacation without the perfect accommodations. Captain John Fripp Villa 102 may just be what you’re looking for! With the best beach on the island just out your back door, some of the best ocean views the island has to offer and room to relax, we believe our villa may be just what you desire.
It has two master suites, one with a king-size bed, the other with a queen; a full-size hide-a-bed in the living room and a twin rollaway offer further sleeping arrangements for additional vacationers. We’ve included all the comforts of home such as a fully-equipped kitchen with the requisite small appliances, cable TV, VCR, DVD, and more. We even provide a small library of good vacation reads in case yours was forgotten!
We’ve chosen Fripp Island as our vacation destination for many reasons and hope to help you discover this unique place as well. Fripp is a private island and nature preserve with a sophisticated variety of amenities. Choose from the offerings of the island’s two 18-hole championship golf courses, 10-court racquet club, full service marina, multiple dining and shopping opportunities, and more (with purchase of amenity cards).
Relax by one of the seven pools on the island, charter a fishing boat, rent a bike, moped or golf cart to venture around the island or view the wildlife, enter a fishing, golf or tennis tournament a multitude of vacation wants can be satisfied here. Annual holiday events, Camp Fripp’s day and evening camps for children and the beautiful beaches make Fripp Island a great family destination, as well. Day trips to Charleston or Savannah’s history or Hilton Head’s golf or outlet shopping allow you to enjoy the best low country destinations from one location.
Just off the island, Hunting Island State Park offers 5000 acres of beach, lagoon, marsh and forests and South Carolina’s only lighthouse accessible to the public, originally built in 1859. The unique appeal of this park was utilized by Hollywood in scenes of Forest Gump with Tom Hanks and G.I. Jane with Demi Moore. This is a sampling of what the island has to offer. Rate Description: Please add 11% South Carolina Sales and Accommodations tax to daily and weekly rentals, plus a $75 reservation/damage waiver fee.
Fee Description: DAILY rentals do NOT include departure cleaning (cost varies by size of home), Harbor Island car passes, and/or amenity cards for Fripp guests, if normally included in weekly rentals.
Driving Directions: From the south: Take I-95 North, take S.C. exit 8 (Hwy 278/Beaufort/Hilton Head). Turn onto Hwy 278, toward Hilton Head/Beaufort. Travel approximately 4 miles and turn left at the sign for Beaufort. (If you pass the Wal-Mart, you missed the turn). Stay on this road until it dead-ends at Hwy 170. Turn left onto Hwy 170 and continue for about 11miles, cross the Broad River Bridge, and turn right onto Hwy 802 (the next right turn after the bridge at the BP Gas Station). Take this road for a couple of miles until it comes to an end and turn right to stay on the same hwy. Stay on Hwy 802 (you’ll cross over the bridge by Parris Island) until you come to a fairly major intersection with a CVS, a gas station, a Hardee’s, and an auto parts store. Turn right at this intersection. You will still be on Hwy 802. (You’ll know it’s the right turn because you’ll see signs for Fripp Island). At all times, follow the signs toward Fripp. You’ll cross another bridge over to Lady’s Island. After crossing the bridge, travel another mile or 2 and make a right hand turn onto Hwy 21. A video rental store and a Publix will be at this intersection. Go approx 15 miles on Hwy 21. Hwy 21 dead ends onto Fripp Island. After checking into the Guard Gate on Fripp, continue onto the Island. Follow Tarpon Boulevard until you see the water tower. Pass the Beach Club and use the last driveway on your left to the JFV units. Follow the driveway to the beachfront units and park anywhere. This unit is upstairs. From the north: Go I-95 South, take exit 33 (US-17 N) toward Charleston/Beaufort. Go approximately 8.5 miles and turn right onto US-21 S/Trask Pkwy. Follow US-21 S/Trask Pkwy for about 14 miles, and then stay straight to go onto US-21 BR/Boundary St. Continue to follow US-21 BR (through downtown Beaufort), which becomes US-21. Continue another 17 miles until the road ends at Fripp Island.
Minimum Rental Period (Days): Typically 7 nights during the summer and 3 nights during the off season.
