In Chicxulub, 20 miles N of Merida (the capital), at the beach, NW Yucatan, Mexico. A Med. style, privately owned, three story beach Villa, with filtered pool, 5 bedrooms, 6 bath. 5500 sq ft of tiled luxury Villa. Located 150 ft off the beach. Sleep to the sounds of the ocean and rustling coconut palms. Air conditioning on all floors. Sleeps 2 to 14. NOTE!! Each floor is “condo complete”, IE. with a private entrance, private and independent, self contained, with a full kitchen, dining and living room. Each floor can be reserved separately for SMALL GROUPS of 2 to 6 persons. The entire Villa can be reserved for a LARGE family/group or multiple families and yet maintain a level of privacy for each family. A great concept, as each floor can be independent of groups on other floors.
Reserve the complete Villa, OR, just rent a floor for 2 to 6 persons. CASTILLO NICTE-HA Villa, allows great flexibility. (8) TV's, one in each room. Ceiling fans in all rooms. All floor levels are fully equipped and complete down to the wine glasses, with full kitchens, towels and linens, and furnished with hand carved Mexican furniture. Spectacular ocean and sunset views. BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Very spacious GROUND floor, is wheelchair accessible. It has one bedroom with large shower, with a king or twin beds. Hammocks available in all bedrooms. A granite-top dining table seats eight or more. Full kitchen, with bar and 4 stools. 2-8ft patio doors open onto a pool terrace.for easy supervision of children. Groups as large as 40 to 60 persons can be comfortably entertained here. Bedroom is air conditioned. BBQ grill.
SECOND floor, has three bedrooms, two queen and one King OR twin beds. Two bedrooms open onto a 24ft x 20ft ocean facing terrace over looking the pool. A second terrace at the rear of the Villa, faces the inland Flamingo lagoons. A full kitchen. Dining table seats 6+. Living room with sofa bed. AC and BBQ
The Penthouse has one bedroom, that opens onto a 24ft x 12ft sun deck and features a spectacular 180 degree view of the ocean. Wonderful sunsets. Cocktail hour here provides a romantic ambiance from this Terrace. Another terrace faces east. AC and BBQ
The Villa is self catering,with an on-site house keeper 24/7. Cook available for additional fee.
Moderate temperatures all year, make Yucatan and Chicxulub an all year round destination. Many Canadians and visitors facing cold winter months, spend their winter here. Local "winter" temperatures are 62F to 75F, with sunny days to walk the beach. Get a "winter" tan and relax. You can be comfortable in summer clothing all winter months here and enjoy morning coffee on the terraces during our "winter".
The ocean is warm, no big waves, you can swim, sail, or fish, the weather is fabulous. It is quiet and peaceful, clean breezes and little traffic, a perfect stress free environment. Relax, take the time to experience "Hammocking 101".
Chicxulub village is five minutes by car or bus. It is a quiet fishing village. Stroll it's central plaza. There are local bus and taxis, markets, (many bake their own bread), fresh fish, restaurants, a pharmacy, internet cafes, and liquor stores. An adjacent family restaurant will cook and deliver to order.
PROGRESO is a larger town, seven miles west of CHICXULUB, with two supermarkets, stores, shopping, internet cafes, plenty of restaurants that provide food and drink service to covered tables on the beach, colorful street vendors. Cruise ships dock twice a week, attracting local artisans.
MERIDA CITY, population 800,000, 20 miles south of PROGRESO, is an older 1700's colonial town, with fine old buildings and boulevards lined with colorful flowering trees. A bustling town center with open air markets, malls, museums, shops, plazas, night life and many free cultural activities in plazas. 3 elegant theaters with mostly free events. Buses are frequent, many taxis. Excellent medical services.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES.
Most of the theater concerts and events are free and Government sponsored. Obtain tickets in person at the theaters. YUCATAN’s capital city, MERIDA, has an historic town center, with four theaters, many charming restaurants and outdoor dining. A wonderful Cathedral, the oldest on the North American mainland, is worth a visit in the central plaza, a place where students congregate, and at night,strolling guitar players entertain. Many night clubs and activities, all within a few blocks. The Mayan Museum and a wide variety of places to shop and dine make this wonderful treasure of a city worth a visit.
Folklorico and other dances and concerts take place Monday nights in the central plaza.
The STATE of YUCATAN with many colonial cities, abounds with Mayan architectural ruins, impressive remnants of a once vibrant civilization. World renown CHICHEN ITSA is a two hour drive, UXMAL about one and a half hours. DIZIBILCHALTUM is 20 minutes. All accessible by bus or coach. CANCUN is three and a half hours by toll road.
The Mexican Riviera, 4 hours drive to the east, with many attractions and wonderful beaches, extends 100 miles south of CANCUN. Roads are good. Central plazas are the hub of life in all towns. The lovely beach town of CAMPECHE, built by the Spanish, has 6 old forts to explore, built to protect the town from marauding pirates of old.
Explore also, early and grand Haciendas built in late 1800's, to process and manufacture sisal rope from henekin cactus plants. Swim and dive in 50ft underground Cenotes and caves illuminated by shafts of sunlight.
Many local lagoons along the coast road, where 1000's of pink Flamingos can be seen.

A $300 SECURITY DEPOSIT plus half of the total rental is required to secure reservation dates. We will hold your dates for 7 days from an email or verbal reservation. We accept checks, credit cards or bank wire. Rental balance is due 60 days before arrival.
FLIGHTS: MERIDA International Airport, from MEXICO CITY takes one and a half hours, MIAMI is two hours, CANCUN one hour. LOS ANGELES is about 6 hours, with a change in MEXICO CITY or HOUSTON, TEXAS. Aeromexico, Mexicana and Continental Airlines service MERIDA Airport (MID), Golf and tennis available nearby.

PROGRESO has a nice seafront esplanade, and lots of restaurants that provide food and drink service to shaded beach tables. INTERNET AVAILABLE

A wonderful Cathedral, the oldest on the American mainland is worth a visit in the main central plaza, a place where students and musicians congregate at night. Many night clubs and activities, all within a few blocks. The Mayan Museum and a wide variety of places to shop and dine make this wonderful treasure of a city a must visit. Folklorico and other dances and concerts take place weekly in the main Merida plaza.
Villa ' Castillo Nicte-Ha', at the beach in CHICXULUB, is 7 mls E. of PROGRESO town , 25 miles N of MERIDA, Yucatan, Mexico. Pink Flamingos nest close by. Many sites of Mayan architecture in Yucatan, such as CHICHEN ITZA-2 hours drive, UXMAL-1 hour. Explore small villages, cenotes,and early Hacienda's of a bygone era. Roads are good. CANCUN, Cozumel and Mexican Riviera are 4 hour drive by toll road. MERIDA, a historic, 1700's colonial town, is 20 mls south of Progreso, has beautiful buildings and Blvds, Night life, 3 elegant theaters, mostly free events, and a cultural bustling town center. Outside dining. PROGRESO, has lots of beach front restaurants and the friendliest people. 2 supermarkets, colorful street vendors and a boat harbor. Stroll central plazas. Moderate climate, our 'winter' is 68F to 75F, clean ocean breeze and little traffic. Come here to relax. Visitors winter here for months. Local buses. Life here is relaxed, peaceful and comfortable. Car is preferable.
Golf and other information.: 20 minute drive to the 18 hole Ceiba golf and tennis club in a private community, located between Merida and Progreso. Boat excursions to fresh water jungle springs nearby. People are friendly. For those wanting a tranquil vacation with miles of sandy beaches without crowds or traffic, this is for you. The Gulf Ocean is warm and shallow, no high waves , great for children..You can swim all winter, the water temperature is comfortable. Ambient air temperatures in winter are 62F to 75F. Summer clothing will suffice in Yucatan. Excursions: Visit Mayan ruins, spend a day on a pony drawn rail track cart and swim in 3 CENOTES. Guides and drivers can be arranged .
