Tranquil, secluded cove on Lake Tashmoo (overlooks the barrier beach where Lake Tashmoo meets the sea). Walk or canoe to private ocean beach on Vineyard Sound (2 canoes provided). Natural setting with gorgeous lake and ocean views from practically every room! Quiet and peaceful, the property borders acres of conservation land -- yet there's lots to do close by -- hiking/biking on nature trails, swimming, boating, fishing, shell-seeking.
Send the kids to the beach, relax on the deck, then dig for clams in the pond and make chowder for dinner! Housekeeping service included two times/week for July/August premium rentals. Peaceful, serene setting, yet only 5 minutes to the island towns with their fine restaurants, shopping and nightlife.
Perfect for two families, the house at "Kuffie's Cove" (built in 1993) includes two master suites each with queen-sized beds, balconies that overlook breathtaking views, and full private baths. One master suite has heated towel bars, the other has a private sun terrace. There is a third (smaller) double bedroom and full bath on first floor.
Spacious kitchen with skylights has views out to the sea and overlooks the dining area and fireplace. Living room also overlooks the view with T.V., DVD, etc. French doors open onto a large screened porch with wicker seating. Outside there is a spacious deck with two sets of dining tables and chairs along with chaise lounges. Separate "Children's Wing" adjoins the screened porch (has two sets of bunkbeds and a double bed in loft) with room to romp inside and outside on the 1 acre lawn.
Enjoy osprey and other island wildlife during the day, magenta sunsets at dusk, and the twinkling lights of the Wood's Hole Lighthouse at night. A truly magnificent spot!
