It features a reverse floor plan, offering spectacular ocean views from the deck, living, and dining areas on the upper floor. Spacious decks are on both floors. The kitchen and living area have recently been remodeled and painted. The upper floor deck also includes a 48” stainless steel gas grill that can handle outdoor cooking for the largest of families or groups. Two master suites, and two other bedrooms all have ocean views and three of them also have direct deck access. One bedroom features two sets of bunk beds, with twin mattresses on top and queen size mattresses on the bottom. The other three bedrooms have king size beds. Wireless internet access is provided throughout the home. The living area includes a 55" TV and a Sonos sound bar with Bluetooth audio connectivity. TVs are in all bedrooms. Bikes and beach gear are provided in the spacious ground floor garage and storage area. The house comes with one 6-seat and one 4-seat golf cart. It’s simply an incredible home for your family and friends to unwind, relax, and recharge. We have been coming to BHI for 6 years for our family's annual beach vacation. We have stayed at several different homes on the island, but Shoes Off has been our favorite. It was comfortable and spacious. It is centrally located on the island so you aren't far from anything. The sunset views from the balcony were stunning. We have four young kids and the home has a really cool room with double bunk beds that our kids loved. We definitely plan on staying here again. As far as booking through BHI Services, they offer really responsive service. When we checked in, the hammock on the balcony was broken and I emailed the team at BHI Services and asked if they could replace it because my wife was really looking forward to using the hammock. They had it replaced within an hour and I also got a nice text from the owner telling us that he hoped we enjoyed it. I really appreciated that level of responsiveness.

"Shoes Off" was the nicest weekly rental home that we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy with our family. We had 3 couples all enjoy king size, comfortable, beds, 2 teenagers enjoy their own full beds and two small girls enjoy the 2 "pack and play" beds that are provided. The golf carts, 6 seater and 4 seater, were speedy and went the whole day without an extra charge. They were actually serviced while we were there! The bikes were amazing and the boys loved exploring the island with them. We joined the Bald Head Country Club for the week, which is a big plus not offered by every rental home, and enjoyed the golf course and the pool several days. The food and drinks at the Club were also a nice touch to enjoy while we were there. We WAY over prepared for the week with food that we brought and I would encourage anyone who might be thinking of what to bring to go light on the food. The market on the island has everything you will ever need, with the exception of hard alcohol, and the prices are similar to the mainland. The ladies loved shopping at the many shops that are there for the gifts you will want to keep and bring back to your jealous friends. The Island is amazing to experience. The beaches are not overly crowded, the water wasn't rough, and at the East Beach you can walk out into the Atlantic almost 200 yards on various sand bars which was really cool. Our house host was responsive to all our requests and has done a wonderful job providing all you will need for your best family vacation ever.

Shoes Off was the perfect house for our 1st Annual Friendsgiving trip with the 4 couples in our group. Outstanding views from the decks & screened porch! A few chilly, windy November days were warmed by the interior fireplace while viewing our daily island explore photo slide shows on the big screen TV in the living room. This house is well-equipped with everything you need & is convenient to all the island offers. We took advantage of the bicycles in the garage and toured the entire island. A bonus of our trip was attending the Howl at the Moon beach party! Will definitely rent this special home again & again!

Beautiful views from this comfortable home! Our family of four enjoyed staying at Shoe's Off. The location on the island is GREAT... the house is located right between the two Clubs and directly across from a beach access. Our kids enjoyed riding bikes at the house (few kids bikes there, one with training wheels) and exploring around the house. The house is kid friendly but, if you are traveling with young kids, remember to bring your own kids stuff for meals (plastic cups & plates) and bring your own beach towels. We look forward to staying again!

We love staying at Steve's place! It is centrally located. Right across from a beach access. House is beyond stocked for outings: coolest umbrellas ever, beach cart, chairs, surfboards, bogie boards and bikes! He has access to both clubs and Steve knows BHI better than anyone so can hook you up with outings/adventures. Highly recommend it so long as you dont pick our dates!!

We are two families that just finished our first visit to BHI. We had a great week! The house is in a perfect location with excellent access to the beach and beautiful sunsets from large decks that surround the first and second floors. House is fully stocked with bikes, chairs, umbrellas and towels. We cannot say enough good things about the kindness of the owner, he really goes above and beyond!!

We love Shoes Off! This is our third time enjoying this property - and WOW - the remodel and upgrades are phenomenal! The best view of the sunset anywhere on the island was right off the porch! We stayed with 2 families that had both young children and "adult children" and couldn't have asked for a better space! The common area had plenty of seats - and even on the "rainy day" the stocked bench with games, etc. were perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked and loaded with every pot, pan, baking sheet, spatula, etc. that you could think of. The "community pantry" with leftover spices / oils / etc. really came in handy! The grill was perfect for loading up the steaks, chicken, and burgers and the gas stove-top is perfect for indoor cooking. The bedrooms / closets / beds were great! Very comfortable spaces - excellent water pressure and the outdoor shower came in clutch multiple times. Shoes Off has some of the best carts on the island - and thanks to Max's handy work - the little blue cart garners a lot of views - sparking insane jealousy from those who are sputtering around. Wave as you go by... and make sure your hat is secure to your head! Under the porch was LOADED with beach chairs, beach toys, a beach cart, boogie boards, etc. which made for hours of endless fun just steps from the driveway! The only thing I wish we could have changed was our departure date... I always want a few more days on BHI! We feel at home at Shoes Off - and we will definitely be back.
