Riverside Cabin boasts 1.5 acres of flat and lush lawn so children can play to their hearts’ content, even play horse shoes, while you can either try your hand at fly-fishing or just laze away the afternoon in our hammock set right by the river’s side! At night a cozy fire-pit with surrounding rustic chairs gives you a perfect end to a day in the mountains. Inside, Riverside Cabin has two good sized bedrooms, one with a bathroom en-suite and also provides for two more with a sleeper-sofa. The kitchen is well stocked and features a breakfast bar with two high stools. There is an attractive rustic dining-table and chairs and in the living room area, a very comfortable ambiance is helped by the wood floors, tongue and groove cathedral ceiling, a gas fireplace and attractive ‘mountainy’ furniture. With two skylights and windows on all three sides, it feels wonderfully light and cheerful - a great place to relax. You have access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon TV and other online service for additional programming. Our back deck commands a view of the river and surroundings, with outside dining furniture, easy chairs and features a gigantic hot-tub. ‘Below decks’ there is an ample fenced in dog lot + and in the breezeway beneath the home. Riverside Cabin is only about three miles from the Mast General Store in historic Valle Crucis, in the Northwestern section of Watauga County and is only about thirty minutes drive from one of the area’s best kept secrets – the spectacularly beautiful Watauga Lake, just over the nearby Tennessee state line. Downtown Boone is within fifteen minutes, as is Banner Elk - accessible via a scenic short cut just down the road. We think this one is a big winner! Riverside Cabin has convenient paved access for all but the last .6 miles. Depending on the home, 4WD, chains or sometimes both may be required when visiting the mountains in winter. Access to this home may not be suitable for vehicles with rear wheel drive, limited ground clearance, or motorcycles even during summer months. We are happy to help you find the home with the access you are most comfortable with, any time of year!FAMILY FAVORITE - this like-new riverfront cottage in Valle Crucis with large, flat yard, hot tub, central AC, firepit, gas fireplace, horseshoes, fenced area for your dog and more. This two bedroom, two bath sleeps up to six with two queen pillow tops plus a queen sleeper.This home has Netflix, Hulu, Amazon TV and other online service for additional programming.
Riverside Cabin enjoys an absolutely idyllic setting; 135 ft of river frontage on the rippling Watauga River; a spectacular view to the South that has cow pastures (with cows!) and a dramatic mountain backdrop; to the North the river continues on its slow and lazy route paralleling the state-maintained gravel road on through active old farms and historical buildings. A perfect spot to take a peaceful morning walk/jog/bike.

This cabin is prime location for all the ski mountains. The river provided nice background noise for hanging out in the hot tub. Very dog friendly setup, well fenced area for the dogs. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here and would rent it again.

5/5 Beautiful home, perfect location! We spent a few days at this sweet river home and it was nothing short of perfect. Extremely peaceful and so beautiful. The house was very clean and up to date. It was cozy and perfect for our family of four. We spent a ton of time on the porch and in the hot tub. There wasn't a hammock or badminton net like the pictures had online, so the kids were a little disappointed, but really otherwise it couldn't have been better. We will stay there again!

Rental was great, was in a very idyllic location, fairly priced considering location and how big it was. Well described on website and good communication throughout. As prepared as I tried to be, setting everything by the door for our early morning departure, I left behind some souvenirs. BRMR called to confirm they were mine, and sent them to me at no cost. This is great customer service, something that is lacking these days....Thank you!

We went for the week with the purpose of spending a relaxing weekend fishing, hiking and enjoying Boone. The property was in a great location and had everything we needed. We especially liked the river steps from the home where we could fish in the mornings. The amenities were fabulous - hot tub, fire pit and working wi-fi! We will definitely return.

Riverside Cabin in Valle Crucis provided a wonderful get away for my family of 4. We spent most of our weekend in the river either in tubes or sitting in chairs enjoying the peace and quiet of the area. The hot tub and the fire pit were added bonuses. Check-in and check-out were easy and Blue Ridge Rentals provided all the information needed for our stay.

Loved The River's Edge Cabin

We absolutely loved the Rivers Edge cabin. It was right on the river and had beautiful views up into the valley. The local mountain scenery driving to this location was also gorgeous with the changing of the leaves. The cabin was clean and well appointed with everything we needed and much more. A Great bed!!! There’s a huge working fireplace that was a nice touch on the cold evenings. Bikes were provided, and even in the mountain setting, the road was nearly flat for several miles with very little traffic. A partially fenced yard was perfect for pets and we’ll surely bring our dogs next time. We would definitely come back to this house.
If You Get Bored At River's Edge, It's Your Fault!

Nigel and Donna's river home is beautiful and peaceful. Our family tubed, fished, and sat in the hot tub at night after hiking during day. Grandfather Mountain is not far and is a must see. Boone Fork is a beautiful hike!!!!! We also played ping pong at the house. We also spent time sitting by the river and playing football and frisbee in the huge yard! If you get bored at this house, it is your own fault. They have tons of fun things to do!

I have absolutely no complaints about anything from ease of arrival, to amenities provided, to location...everything was just what we were looking for. Views Are Amazing

We really enjoyed our stay at River's Edge. The house was clean, and the property and views were amazing. Perfect place for two couples. Unfortunately, the hot tub was only at 72° upon arrival, but warmed up to 94° by 9:30pm. The following day it hit 100°, which was fantastic after hitting the ski slopes. Prior to booking this house, I was unaware that the owners had it listed with a rental management company. What I enjoy most from our previous experience with Air B&B, is the personal level of communication, rather than dealing with two separate parties.

Awesome vacation cabin located 20 minutes from skiing and 15 to downtown Boone. The house itself is sits on a quiet creekside lot with restaurants and stores close by. It's perfect for anyone who wants to be in the mountains and feel secluded while at the same time being minutes away from anything they need. The hot tub was amazing with plenty of privacy. Overall the house is cozy, clean, and convenient. Looking forward to a second stay soon.
We Absolutely Loved River's Edge

We were three couples staying in the house for New Years Eve weekend (total of 6 adults). We absolutely loved River's Edge! It was the perfect size - intimate feeling without being too crowded. Everything was very clean and neat when we arrived. The beds in the rooms were very comfortable and cozy. We skied two times that weekend - once at Beech Mountain and once at Sugar Mountain and the location was perfect to get to both mountains pretty easily (about 30-40 mins). Downtown Boone was about 25-30 mins away and downtown Banner Elk (with great restaurants) was about 30+ minutes away. We highly recommend Louisiana Purchase for dinner in Banner Elk. Our favorite things about the house: the large dining table for our homemade feasts every night, the Christmas tree, free wi-fi (a must), open concept living area, fire pit, grill, gas fireplace, hot tub and the feeling of privacy with the sounds of the river running. Keep in mind that it is a pretty remote area and some of the roads are windy and not paved, so I would suggest arriving during the day as the drive at night (if you're not familiar) is a bit precarious. Also we had decent weather with mild temperatures and not a lot of snow. I would imagine if there was more snow or ice roads you would have to be extra careful. Overall, a WONDERFUL experience and would love to stay at River's Edge during the warmer weather as well! Thank you!
