I only have good things to say about this place, and the owners who rented it to us. It started out being good, before we even got there. We travel extensively, we have discerning tastes and high expectations. Bill, the owner, more than exceeded those. The place was clean, comfortable, well-appointed, and thoroughly supplied, from the linen closet to the kitchen pantry. Televisions in all the rooms, wifi with a good signal, well-stocked kitchen pots and utensils. Not too much of anything.Nicely, elegantly, thoughtfully decorated. Lots of space. Three spacious bedrooms with lots of space and storage. I said before it was good before we got there, and here's why. After Bill and I agreed that I would rent his place, he made sure to send me the access information well before we received. He didn't just tell us about getting in, he recommended the type of car for the area, and restaurant names, and THEN, he sent us coupons for ski rental discounts, and recommended the BEST way for us to avoid being affected by the altitude, including the names of good medicines to take! This is INSANE attention to detail regarding the comfort of your guests! The house is close to everything. You can go out every day and fine good meals for breakfast lunch and dinner. But because we enjoyed the place so much, we went to the nearby grocery store (which Bill told us about), stocked up, and cooked every day. The last thing I'll say about Bear Haven is, I absolutely knew how enjoyable and comfortable Bearhaven was when I realized that, as we drank coffee and talked to each other, we were doing most of that hanging out in the kitchen, just like at home, because it felt like someone had trusted us enough to leave us alone in their home. And that's what it was.

The house was perfect for our stay in Breckenridge, very close to the center, had wonderful views of the mountains from the front yard. The house was well stocked and very comfortable, worked out wonderful for our family of 5. After a long day of hiking and sight seeing we relaxed in the hot tub. The foxes were our morning amusement as we had our coffee, they came around every morning for their daily feeding of eggs from the neighbor.

We recently took our family to Breckenridge to escape the Texas heat and get some much-needed family vacation time. We could not have been more pleased with this house. The house is absolutely beautiful and the layout is terrific. The house is in a gorgeous neighborhood and within walking distance to some great hiking trails. There is so much to do in and around Breckenridge, and this house is in a great location to access so many fun activities. Bill was exceptional in sending us valuable information, making sure everything was to our liking, and making us feel right at home. The worst part of the trip was when we had to leave. This house was wonderful and we can't wait to come back. I would highly recommend Bear Haven to anyone looking for a vacation home in Colorado.

A group of us signed up to run the Spartan Beast in Breckenridge and we needed a place where 8 of us could stay comfortably. This place was perfect for that amount of people. The house was gorgeous and was in great shape. We put the hot tub to use after the race and it helped us recover for our white water rafting trip the next day. Bill was great to work with from the beginning. I'd recommend this place to anyone that doesn't want to stay in a standard hotel.

The layout of this house is wonderful. The great room in front is cozy and the gas stove makes it toasty. Each one of the bedrooms is a master with large comfortable beds and privacy for all. The kitchen is beautiful with its new hickory cabinets and stainless appliances. Easy to cook and clean up. We loved the ski in/ski out feature as we could get to Peak 9 easily, except for one day when there was deep powder and we were the first ones in the morning. Love the hot tub for soaking and the birds at the bird feeders. Thanks Bill and Kathy for sharing your lovely home!.

We had been looking for a great place to meet for a summer vacation now that our kids live in different parts of the country. We are from Kansas City, our son goes to college and has a summer internship in Tulsa, and our daughter lives in Washington DC. We also invited her boyfriend. He had never been to Colorado so we focused there and since we had visited Breckenridge before and loved it, we began searching for a place for us all to stay. There are so many places to pick from but Bearhaven stood out because of the pictures, reviews, size, and price. We booked it and Bill provided us with all sorts of information to enhance our trip. When we arrived, everyone loved it as they picked their rooms. It isn't huge but it has plenty of room for 5 with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, it is decorated beutifully and the kitchen is great. Everyone was very comfortable and soon a puzzle was covering the oversize dinner table. Board games were played in the living room late into the night and the grill and kitchen made dinner at home fun and easy. It has a really nice enclosed hot tub but we didn't use it much because we were off doing other things. Bearhaven is half of a really nice mountain duplex in a wooded neighborhood of amazing homes. The area is very quiet save for the birds and wind in the trees. The houses are close to each other yet, other than saying hi in the driveway, we never heard other folks. Bearhaven is only a couple minutes walk from the Burro Trail which makes for a nice 20 or so minute walk to town or, head the other way as I did each morning while the rest of the family slept in, and you are walking up an incline along a gurgling stream then into secluded woods. I loved it! If you prefer to drive, the condo is just over five minutes from town. We hiked, watched the last two World Cup games at Eric's and Ollie's respectively (those are sports bar-type place in town), took the gondola and lift as high as we could go, shopped (too much), dodged rain at The Crowne (cool quirky coffee joint), and ate at a couple of the local places but we all seemed to prefer hanging out at Bearhaven playing games, doing the puzzle, reading, or just hanging out. Great place! Great trip!
