Historic cabin close to Yellowstone National Park. 21 miles West of Cody and 29 miles from Yellowstone. Cabin is surrounded by 50-year-old pines and cottonwoods and sits 30 yards from a creek that flows year-round. Separate bunkhouse by creek has two double beds and an enclosed porch. Hiking, fishing, mountain biking are all close by.
What is now the main living room of this home was originally a 100-year-old trapper's cabin. The remainder was added by a local preacher in his spare time using mostly recovered and recycled materials and local logs. The bunkhouse was constructed from recycled materials. This is a first-hand experience with history and innovation!
This is an historic cabin surrounded by a creek, mature landscaping, and the occasional critter (mice, deer, raccoons, skunk, etc.). The road to the cabin is gravel and dirt but very well maintained. The property is very secluded but there are neighbors nearby and a small convenience store and gas station near the highway. Cell phone service may be limited but you can get a clear signal back down the road. The creek can be fun but may be hazardous so please supervise your children at all times.
