The Log Home is surrounded by hundreds of acres of excellent cross-country skiing and snowmobile terrain. Stowe, the Ski Capital of the East, is only a short drive away & Lake Elmore is just down the road. The V.A.S.T. snowmobile network is easily accessed from the house. When the snow goes, there are beaver ponds, high meadows and 40 mile views to be enjoyed by hiking right out the door. Have you ever wanted to find those secluded swimming holes you've only seen in pictures? Well, there is Moss Glenn Falls, Crystal Brook and Zack Woods Pond, just to name a few. Nearby lakes include Elmore, Caspian or Lake Willoughby. A canoe is included with your rental. Are you interested in mountain climbing? The Long Trail in the Green Mountains is 15 miles away, or you can climb up Mt. Elmore, just 3 miles from the house. Other exciting activities include white water and flat water canoeing, antique shows, country fairs, back road drives, bicycling, golf, fall foliage tours, and relaxing picnics. Perhaps you would like to do some hunting and/or fishing. Fine fishing areas, both lake and stream, are nearby, and one of the best deer yards in the State is right outside your door. After an active day, you and five close friends can literally soak up the evening's view from the hot tub located on the front porch. Maybe you would just like to relax, sit out on the porch, read, shoot a little pool, or just hang out. The Log Home is a unique recreational opportunity in a beautiful and secluded setting.
You will be welcomed upon your arrival, shown around the place, and personally assisted in planning your vacation. A guide book for cross country skiing, swimming holes, back road tours, and hiking is provided. Further information and references are available upon request. The Log Home is located on 10 acres in the Town of Wolcott, Vermont, approximately 2 miles from Lake Elmore and 16 Miles from Stowe. The location is secluded with excellent views. The House features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a redwood hot tub on the front porch, fieldstone fireplace with soapstone wood stove, competition pool table, stereo system, and a DSS satellite T.V. system. The hot tub is fully winterized.
TOP FLOOR:
The master bedroom queen sleeps 2
The regular bedroom full sleeps 2 and
The bunkroom sleeps 2 in twins
MAIN FLOOR:
Living Room
The living room has the fireplace/woodstove, stereo system, antique parlor stove, and friendly moose head.
Kitchen/dining room
The kitchen has a refrigerator, electric stove, dishwasher, micro wave, coffee maker, and complete kitchen supplies (dishes, pots, pans, etc.).
T.V. room
The TV room has satellite TV, a DVD player and surround sound. The full futon sleeps 2.
Bathroom
The large bathroom with bathtub/shower is adjacent to living room.
DOWNSTAIRS:
Downstairs is a finished billiard room with 1" slate pool table. The queen futon sleeps 2.
Adjacent to the billiard room is another bedroom that sleeps 2 and bathroom along with a washer and dryer. The house has rough cut pine paneled partitions and pine floors.
There is a garage apartment that is set away from the log home to assure privacy. My caretaker (Bob Meiners) lives there from mid April to Mid December. I live in the garage apartment during the winter months. We are committed to providing outstanding service, maintaining your privacy, and greeting you upon arrival.
Please bring your own food, drinks, toiletry supplies, CDs, and DVDs. Linens, towels, blankets, and gas bbq are supplied. The log home has great well water, bottled water definitely not needed.
