Vacation Rental Description

Castaway is a tropical beachfront vacation home with 3 bedrooms, 1 den and 2 bathrooms and can accommodate up to 10 people.

This spacious home is decorated in the island style with all the amenities of home. The main living area has an open airy plan with high ceilings, paddle fans and 2 large sliding glass doors that open to the roomy multi-level deck overlooking the many blue shades of the Atlantic.

There are 2 master bedrooms each with sliding glass doors that open to their own private section of deck.

The kitchen has everything a cook needs including a cooking island with a Jenn-Aire stove and a side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water.

The ocean view dining table seats 6, the kitchen island seats 3 and a cafe table seats 2. There is a separate den with a TV, DVD/VCR player and a queen sofa sleeper.

Castaway was designed to capture the magnificent views of the beach and aqua sea. After enjoying a full day's worth of activities at the beach, relax and unwind yourself on the deck surrounded by palms while cooking up a meal on the grill and sipping a cool Bahamian drink.

Bahamas Castaway now has wireless internet.

Property Activities

Activities include relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, sunning and spectacular beach walks on Double Bay. Other activities in the area include scuba diving, deep sea fishing, bone fishing, bird watching and shelling.

Double Bay is one of the most pristine beaches on Eleuthra extending for about 2 miles. To the north of Double Bay you have an endless set of beaches you can also explore. Castaway is at the north end of Double Bay proper. The sand is pink and you can enter the water barefoot just about anywhere along the bay. You have numerous coral reefs in the bays accented by two gorgeous cays (Diamond & Gut) which provide an incredible amount of sea life for the snorkeling or scuba diver enthusiasts. In the winter months occasional tropical storms and currents can shift the sands in front of Castaway exposing smooth limestone rocks. If you go south for 100 yards or so there will always be plenty of sandy beach to enjoy. Each year is different depending on the currents in the Atlantic . If you can find the energy to pull yourself off the deck there is a set of about 10 stairs for easy access to the beach.

How do I get to Bahamas Castaway? Bahamas Castaway is about 20 minutes south of Governor’s Harbor Airport (GHB). Another airport, Rock Sound Airport (RSD), is about 30 minutes south of Bahamas Castaway. Travelers usually make a connection through Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) Airport or Miami Airport (MIA). There are also connections through Nassau (NAU). From Nassau you can use the Bahamas Fast Ferries as another option.
