Relive the splendor of Victorian days while luxuriating in the comforts of modern times. Built in 1897 by WT Jones, President of the Tyson Jones Buggy Company, The Old Buggy Inn stands at the entrance to Carthage's beautiful historic district. A proud and elegant Painted Lady, this lovingly restored Queen Anne Victorian lies in the heart of the Sandhills Region, just minutes away from the famous Pinehurst and Southern Pines golfing resorts and within easy driving distance of some of the best antique and pottery shopping in the region. Slip back in time as you enjoy the wrap-around porch, the fanciful gingerbread trim, and the lavishness of this by-gone era.
The Old Buggy Inn features 4 guest rooms, each with a private bathroom and charming gas fireplace. All of our rooms offer luxury linens, including featherbeds, goose-down comforters and pillows. The rooms have TV's and DVD players, and we are happy to loan you a variety of movies from our library. Inside your room you'll find two robes and slipper sets, so you can lounge in comfort at our wonderfully romantic B&B.
The Tower Room
This is the largest room and it features the turret of the home, which offers a table for two, perfect for enjoying breakfast in the room. The queen size bed is decorated in all white, and a rich red accents the room. This room has a private bathroom, down the hallway.
The Milliner's Room
The owner of The Old Buggy Inn loves and collects vintage hats. Share her love in the Milliner's Room, decorated in hats, antique hat forms, hat boxes and other hat making accessories. This room offers a queen size bed and an ensuite bathroom. Shower in the vintage claw-foot bathtub.
The English Garden Room
This room can be used as a family room, as it offers a king size bed and a separate twin size bed. Decorated in lovely pinks and vintage flower prints, it reminds one of an English Garden. The private ensuite bathroom features a clawfoot tub.
The Traveler's Room
The Traveler's Room is decorated with vintage luggage and maps. This beautiful and uniquie room offers a queen size bed and a private bathroom down the hall.

The Old Buggy Inn offers several common areas, each with it's own individual charm and character. We invite you to relax and visit in our morning room.
Your gourmet breakfast will be served in our dining room.
Although not a common area room, the owner would love to give you a tour of the newly remodeled gourmet kitchen. Breakfast includes freshly squeezed juices and delicious food, happily prepared in this state of the art kitchen. Special diets, such as low-fat and vegetarian, are cheerfully accommodated with ample notice.
The Inn also offers a swimming pool, which is open during summer hours. There is a beautiful gazebo, which can be used for relaxing or warm weather outdoor weddings. The gardens throughout the property are beautiful and they resemble an English garden.
