So close to the Bay Area... yet a wonderful cross between Napa, Tahoe and (dare we say) Lake Como!
This romantic, cozy, hilltop retreat is a Designer's Vacation Home, decorated with fine furnishings, comes with a fully-equipped kitchen and has a cheery Mediterranean charm.
The ever-changing views are breathtakingly awesome during the day…but when the sun goes down, the twinkling of the lights around the lake and a million stars will keep you captivated for hours. From your deck you can look down on boaters, sailors, jet-skiers, holiday fireworks, drifting clouds, deer and soaring hawks.
After a weekend here, you may just want to stay longer. That's OK... just call us and we'll be happy to extend your stay (if available).
The area is home to uncrowded and intimate wineries, great dining, golfing, world-class fishing and watersports. We're close to Robinson Rancheria Casino and across the lake from KONOCTI Resort and Spa (with a GREAT concert series). Nearby, you can catch a glider and fly silently over the Lake and the stunning Mayacamas Mountain Range.
And then, of course, there's our favorites...Reading, Relaxing, Eating, Napping, Sipping Wine and entertaining friends on the deck overlooking the lake!
And, in case you forget to bring your own entertainment...we have Satellite TV, SIRIUS Radio, a bookshelf full of unique books, a collection of great CDs to help you relax and an assortment of DVDs to watch. We also have binoculars, playing cards, dominoes, puzzles and board games.
There's so much to do near here... PERLA del LAGO is a lovely drive from Calistoga and the Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley where you can dine in fine restaurants, visit mud and mineral baths, shop and tour wineries...

...you may just prefer the local uncrowded and "undiscovered" wineries in the Lake County Wine Country (such as Jim Fetzer's Ceâgo Winegarden, Langtry Estates-Guenoc, Tulip Hill, Steele, Shannon Ridge, Wildhurst, Rosa d'Oro, Abbott, Brassfield Estates, Ployez and Monte Lago). In fact California just designated its newest Appellation in August of 2005 to the "High Valley Appellation" region near here.

ABOUT LAKE COUNTY AND CLEARLAKE
Clearlake is the largest natural freshwater lake in the State of California and second oldest lake in the world! Visitors enjoy fishing, swimming, sailing, wind surfing, parasailing, water-skiing, boating, and riding jet skis. There are 11 free boat launch ramps around the lake, and individuals can rent boats and personal watercraft from many local businesses. Clearlake can be found in beautiful Lake County, approximately 90 minutes northwest of Sacramento and 90 minutes northeast of San Francisco. For thirteen consecutive years Lake County has had the cleanest air in all of California. Winters are mild here, generally 40s and 50s and Summer temperatures are usually in the 80s and 90s.
The lake itself is truly magnificent. It stretches nearly twenty miles in length and includes over 100 miles of shoreline. Considered a “warm water” lake, the bass fishing is unrivaled as witnessed by the 40+ fishing tournaments held here annually out of Thompson Harbor. Professional fishing organizations such as BassMasters, W.O.N. Bass, Angler’s Choice, American Bass, West Coast Bass, and FLW, to name just a few, are regular participants. The record large mouth bass caught out of this lake weighed a whopping 17.52 pounds!

Well, let's just say, all expectations were blown away. First, the drive up here was spectactular and the house is gorgeous, took my breath away. This was the perfect escape from my hectic city life and exactly what I needed to reflect on God's blessings.

08/15/07 Traveling from San Fran up to Eureka and back in one week was more exhausting than we thought. When we booked our one night reservation at Perla del Laga, we realized last minute we would need another night to relax, rejuvenate and renew! The owner, his family, and his staff were more than accommodating and helpful. The beautiful house had just the right touches and was so clean. The accommodations were comfortable for all - my 86 yr old grandmother, parents, 26 yr old brother, and myself! We loved waking up to the view, eating on the deck and watching movies at night! All of the recommendations provided were great. We would certainly come back and stay again next time we are in CA.

Everything I could ever want was provided: breathtaking 180-degree views from the spacious deck, beautiful decor and furnishings, a fully-stocked kitchen, CDs, DVDs, satellite TV, two lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, and tremendously hospitable hosts. There is no doubt that I will be coming back, and often!

05/31/07 You could imagine how frustrated we were after 6 hours driving to Clear Lake, which should have taken only 3 hours instead if it were not in the memorial holiday. But, at the first look of the house, we knew immediately it's worth every boring minute in the traffic. We had a really wonderful time there, not just for the great view, but also for all the comfortness and considerations in the house. We could just stay on the deck for the whole day chatting. And the owner keeps a good collection of CDs, DVDs, books, games. You could never get bored, and you'd hate to leave. I would recommend it to anyone. :)

01/24/07 The first time I came here was with my fiance, we were shocked at how amazing the view was.
Evenings on the deck, overlooking the lake, were absolutley beautiful and very romantic. I then came here a second time with a group of friends and everyone agreed that it was a perfect place to stay. It was way more roomy than a hotel, and we had the freedom to cook our own meals and have the deck all to ourselves. So I highly suggest this to anyone who wants an amazing getaway with friends, or a romantic retreat with a loved one.
