Beach house in La Jolla, just about 200 feet from stairway to beautiful La Jolla Cove and beach. Surfing, swimming, diving, body-surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, beach walking, tide-pooling are all the best in San Diego. Walk to Kellogg Park with playgrounds and picnicking on grass and the beach.

Walk to restaurants, shops, and market. Two minutes to the Birch Aquarium at Scripps and three minutes to the La Jolla Playhouse with 3 theaters and some of the best plays in town. There is just one house between Scripps Institution of Oceanography's new Forum and this beach house. SIO is part of UCSD. Short drive to everything in San Diego.

Beautiful beach home, across the street from some of the best surfing, diving, kayaking, beachwalks and tidepools anywhere. Walk to restaurants, shops, market and Kellogg park with playgrounds on the beach. A short drive to La Jolla Village where you can find everything the big city has to offer but in a quaint setting by the sea. The wonderful Birch Aquarium at Scripps is 1/2 mile (2 minutes) from the house and Sea World, San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park with all of its museums are less than 15 minutes away. Legoland is 18 miles north and in the same neighborhood is a large Designer Outlet Shopping Mall. Downtown San Diego is just 12 miles away. You can drive an hour and a half and find yourself in mountains or the desert. You can drive or take the San Diego Trolley to Mexico in less than an hour.



Torrey Pines Golf Course: The magnificent Torrey Pines Golf Course is 3.5 miles (8 minutes) away, according to Google maps. LPGA Samsung Tournament: The LPGA Samsung Tournament will be held on the Torrey Pines Golf Course, South Course from September 16, 2009 through September 20, 2009. Book now for a special price of $2500 for the week with flexible arrival and departure days.


Buick Invitational and the U.S. Open: Since 1968, every year, in January or February, the PGA Tour hosts the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines. The US Open was held at Torrey Pines Golf Course June 9-16, 2008.

The master bedroom is upstairs and is connected to the den. There is a dressing area large enough for a little one, if you have a portable crib. The den has a television that is connected to the cable service with a DVD player and a VCR. There is a second master bedroom downstairs, with a television connected to the cable service. The third bedroom has a bathroom right outside the door. This bedroom has a desk that has wireless and wired Internet access and a television that are all connected to the cable service, The fourth bedroom has a couch that makes into a queen sized bed and it has a desk with Internet access, wired and wireless. There is also a FAX machine on the desk. If you have no need for privacy, there are two couches in the living room that make up into 2 twin beds are very comfortable. There are linens for all of these sleeping concoctions. We have reverse osmosis drinking water in the kitchen.

The living room has a wet bar with a mini-refrigerator. The two couches can be used as two twin beds if privacy is not an issue.

My family and I recently returned from a trip to California, where we stayed at Beach House, La Jolla. We couldn't possibly have been more happy with our decision. The main things that attracted us to the house were the location, the size of the house, the amenities, and the price. Everything was exactly as described online.

Several things stood out to us that made this house perfect for our needs:

1. We slept ten easily, with two of the kids on the couches upstairs and two others on the hideaway in the office downstairs. Each of the three rooms with beds has an adjacent bathroom, giving a sense of privacy (necessary for 3 families in one house).

2. The backyard patio area is perfect for grilling out or simply relaxing while enjoying Southern California's weather. The outdoor shower also made washing off the beach sand a snap.

3. The proximity to the beach is a major plus. The access is only steps away and leads to a quiet stretch of Life Guarded beach. Swimming is to the right and surfing is to the left. We had looked at another house closer to Kellogg Park and are SO glad we chose Beach House, La Jolla. The Park area can be busy at times (especially the weekends). Additionally, tide pools are accessible during low tide only a short walk up the beach.

The views from the upstairs are simply stunning. We spent mornings and evenings on the deck soaking in the scenery. The proximity of the house to the airport, freeway, and major attractions allows you to keep as busy as you want to be. We chose to keep it simple and did the Midway (an aircraft carrier downtown), Legoland (for the kids - and Dads), and the Birch Aquarium (just up the hill - don't miss the sharks being fed Saturday mornings).

Perhaps the most unexpected treat for us was getting to know Lynne, the owner. She is delightful and went out of her way to ensure that our trip was a success and we were comfortable in her wonderful home. I would definitely recommend this house to friends and family interested in exploring what a Southern California beach vacation can offer.
