OVERVIEW:
Built in the tradition of the Adirondack Great Camps, but with a modern interpretation, the house sits at the
end of a quiet two mile road on 320 acres of private land. Camp Pair-o’ Docks offers complete privacy, comfort, natural and architectural beauty, and a wide variety of outdoor activities year-round.
THE HOME:
The 4800 square foot home, designed by the owner along with award winning architect Kurt Lavenson AIA, offers a contemporary interpretation of traditional Adirondack architectural style. Large windows throughout the house make the home bright and allow all rooms to take advantage of the spectacular views.
The heart of the home is a large central pavilion that contains the living, dining and kitchen spaces. It is supported by a massive stone column with a fire place at its base and exposed trusses that extend diagonally out to its corners.
The living, dining and kitchen areas areas feature large picture windows with views of the lake, private beach and property. Brazilian cherry floors with maple accents provide a durable and beautiful way to tie the commonareas together.
The kitchen is fully outfitted for a chef, with granite countertops, All-Clad cookware, DCS gas range, Bosch dishwasher, and a La Cimbale commercial espresso machine.
A large screen porch provides ample room for breezy indoor-outdoor living and entertaining. The porch also has a ping pong table and is the perfect place to spend a lazy summer afteroon.
The use of natural materials throughout the house, including stone,wood, slate and glass, combined with modern finishes, high ceilings, and ample spaces gives the house a light and airy feeling.
The home has four bedrooms, and can comfortably accomodate a large family or small group. Two bedrooms also have queen size sofabeds for extra family members. There are four bathrooms, a loft, and
a large office with high speed internet, phones, satellite television, and a printer. The office also doubles as an exercise studio and contains a Precor treadmill for rainy day workouts.
Downstairs, a large laundry room can accomodate the needs of a large family.
The house has its own well with a Culligan water system and a large generator provides automatic back-up power in the case of an outage.
THE PROPERTY:
Camp Pair-o’Docks sits on 320 acres at the end of a quiet two mile road on Paradox Lake and is surrounded by state land on three sides. The house sits far back from the road offering complete privacy. The property boasts over half a mile of lake frontage including a large sandy beach, a “pair of docks” spaced 50 meters apart and lane line for swimmers, and a large boat dock that can accommodate several boats. The property has several miles of trails through the woods for hiking and cross country skiing.
PARADOX LAKE:
Paradox Lake is one of the jewels of the Adirondacks, known for its clean water, natural beauty and wildlife and great fishing. the 3.5 mile long lake is large enough to allow for all forms of water activities, but also small enough to offer peace and tranquility.
IDEAL LOCATION:
Camp Pair-o'Docks is ideally located and easily accessible throughout the year and is in close proximity to the high peaks, Lake Placid, whiteface Mountain, Lake George, Gore Mountain, and Vermont. It sits four hours north of New York City and 90 minutes north of Albany and provides a perfect getaway, refuge and base of operations during all seasons.
