Cozy beach cottage located in the Maritime Forest, nestled in the Ibis Roost community is conveniently located near the Beach, Market and a private community Pool. "A Great Escape" is a beautifully decorated 3 bedroom/3 full bathroom cottage with a quiet island location and accessories that are ideal for families.
A spacious floor plan features open living/dining space with an assortment of books, videos, and board games. A den on the first floor with a sleeper sofa and sliding barn door for privacy. A bright, cheerful sunroom is located off of the main living area and overlooks the maritime forest. Large front porch for those just wanting to sit and relax.
Cable TV and Internet Service with a strong WiFi signal. Large flat screen TVs in all rooms
Access provided to the Ibis Roost community pool, which can only be used by Ibis Roost families and their guests (30 homes) and is just a 1 minute walk away. Bald Head Island Club Lifestyle Membership is available separately (use of the pool, playground, children's spray ground, restaurants, fitness center, golf, tennis, croquet (for a fee).

We have stayed on Bald Head for over 17 years, but we had never stayed in this neighborhood of Ibis Roost. It is quiet and secluded and the wooded surroundings and pretty pool provide relief from the heat of the direct sun! The house is in excellent condition and the screened porch wraps around and has a nice table for large dinners. The house has three big bedrooms with their own bathrooms and even has an extra small bedroom/office with a pullout sofa bed. We have now rented with BHI Services a few times, and they are very responsive and professional! We would definitely want to stay here again!!
A wonderful week with family

We spent a week at A Great Escape and loved it. The kitchen was well stocked and the living and sleeping areas were very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the "coffee station" setup. This was our 10th year on the Island and fourth time staying in the Ibis Roost community and our favorite so far. The proximity to the beach and the market and harbor is perfect for us. The carts were comfortable and the beach chairs and boogie boards were great. My son loved the pool and this year there were some pool floaties to enjoy! We would definitely stay here again!
Relaxing Hideaway

The house was the perfect relaxing hideaway on BHI! Tons of room for our family of 4 to spread out, and I greatly appreciated the home office for working remotely. It was the most well-stocked vacation home we've ever rented! And yes, the kitchen is very small, but it had everything we needed and was meticulously organized. Great location in the beautiful forest, with the pool just around the corner and the market a short cart ride away. We loved our stay!
Perfect Family Getaway

The home was a perfect size for our family so that each kid had their own room and bathroom! We had everything we needed for a great stay. The golf carts were a hit, the bikes were a welcome addition as well as plenty of beach towels, chairs and sand toys for the beach. Even had a cooler for our beach day. Would recommend this cottage to anyone!

We enjoyed our stay. We walked in and felt at home from the first moment. Each room is decorated beautifully and so so clean!!! The beds were so comfy. Our home was stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen was so organized and notes on cabinet doors where everything was.... wow we were so impressed!!! We were here for a wedding and were not able to sit and relax enough to enjoy the comfort of this beautiful home!!!

The Great Escape was just that for us. Just two of us so it was bigger than we needed. I liked the privacy of the setting as well as the central location on the island that made it easy to explore the whole place. Clean and everything we needed for a great week was there. It was also good to have two carts to use. The only small inconvenience is it seemed like the charges didn't last very long on the golf carts. We never got stranded but seemed to run out or juice sooner than expected.
Lovely Cottage

We loved our stay at A Great Escape. Plenty of room and privacy. The screen porch was nice to enjoy my morning coffee and in cooler weather would be nice to eat at the large table on the porch. We were lucky to see deer in the backyard one morning while we had breakfast in the sunroom. The kids liked having access to an Xbox when not enjoying the beach or pool. There's plenty of games, puzzles and books there for rainy days as well. The kitchen is a little small but if only one person at a time then all is well. It's nicely stocked to cook meals. Thank you for a lovely stay!

This was our third year at 14 Ibis Roost, our stay was amazing. In spite of the storm Isaias coming through overnight and losing power, and then the air conditioning breaking down, we Absolutely this house and Bald Head is really a magical place and we love and look forward to spending time on the island. Bald Head Services was very responsive to our needs when the A/c stopped working and we really appreciate that! We will definitely be back next year, hopefully after a COVID vaccine. Can't wait til next summer, our family is making life long memories!

We loved this home! Very well organized, and very comfortable furniture. New screened in porch makes sitting outside, or dining on the porch very pleasant. Two beautiful golf carts makes getting around the island a breeze.
Wonderful rental

This was our first time staying at Ibis Roost and we loved it. The home itself was very spacious, plenty of living space for everyone, the separate TV/video game area was perfect for the kids so I can watch my Bravo shows in peace on the big screen. Probably the most well equipped home we have stayed in, all of the kitchen utensils were organized and even had pictures on the cabinets showing you where things belonged. Three large bathrooms, beds were comfy too. Only thing is that we couldn't see that there was more than one bathmat, so we had to use another towel each time we showered. Also would be nice to have a guide for all of the remotes for the TV, it took us a while to figure it out and I have three teenage sons (like a walking IT team). The home itself was light and bright despite being tucked away in the forest, and the pool was especially convenient- a two minute walk and my 4 year old and I used it everyday! This is a

A Great Escape was perfect for our family! Tons of space. It was in a central location--easy golf cart ride to the beach and to the market. Cute community of houses with a pool only available to guests of Ibis Roost. Would definitely stay again!
