Keep an eye out for wildlife from either of the decks, or the large patio or covered porch at the rear of the cabin. If fishing isn’t your thing, from the front deck, enjoy 21 acres and an uninterrupted view to the West, of prairie and the nearby and spectacular Beartooth and Absaroka Mountains. The mountain seen from the covered deck is Heart Mountain. If you like wildlife, there’s plenty to see! Eagles, hawks, deer and antelope are easy to spot, but be aware that there may be small creatures such as coyote, fox, rabbits and the occasional snake or skunk nearby as well. Being small, you may actually surprise each other, so be on the lookout! For the athletic and adventurous, the Clark's Fork Canyon provides for excellent hiking and breathtaking photo opportunities.
The cabin main floor is an open floor plan, with a fully equipped Kitchen, dining and living areas common on the main floor. There is a full bath and private bedroom with twin beds on the main floor as well, for those who cannot easily manage stairs. Through the back door, there is a wide, covered porch running the length of the cabin where you can rest and have a great view of the river. The upstairs loft includes a bedroom with Queen Bed, and full bath. Downstairs, the walkout basement contains the laundry area (washer and dryer are provided), another full bath, two twin beds and additional room to spread out. For the fisherman, your license is available nearby at Edelweiss Country Store on the corner of Road 1AB and State Highway 120 at the entrance to the Clark Community.
Take the road less traveled, to Yellowstone National Park via the Chief Joseph By-Way and closely follow the path of the Nez Pierce Indians as they fled the Cavalry in 1877. Continue on the Beartooth Highway and then on to Yellowstone National Park’s Grand Loop Road. Enjoy unlimited outdoor recreation all along this route as nearly all of it passes through National Forest…all told, a beautiful drive of just over 100 miles from your doorstep…this is one of America’s most scenic drives and one you won’t soon forget. There are many twists and turns; numerous ascents and descents on this trip, so allow about 2 hours to properly enjoy the scenery and all this drive has to offer. Shopping, entertainment and restaurants are an easy drive, just 30 miles away in Cody or Powell. The World Class Buffalo Bill Historical Center contains multiple venues including the Winchester Gun Collection, Plains Indian Museum, Whitney Gallery of Western Art, and of course, the Buffalo Bill Museum. Speaking of Buffalo Bill…Remember, this is cowboy country, so don’t miss the nightly rodeo in Cody, every night through the summer!
Remember, you’re in a rural and rugged area…the old west that only Wyoming can still provide. Barbed wire fences are sharp and the river can be swift…while the river is a sportsman’s paradise, it’s NOT a place for swimming and no attempt should be made to do so. Children, especially, should remain safely behind the gates on the property.
Note: The last two miles of road to the property is well maintained gravel.
