This historic 2 bedroom, 1-1/2 bath Cody home was built by Howard Bell, Cody City Engineer, about 1935. It was later purchased by Charles and Mable Orchard. Mr. Orchard came west around the turn of the century to start a cattle ranching operation. He became involved in an oil exploration venture in Oregon Basin, about 10 miles southeast of Cody, in the early 1920's. This venture paid off in grand style, enabling the Orchard's to buy a large cattle ranch on the Nowood River above Ten Sleep, Wyoming, which is still owned by the Orchard Family.
The house includes all the amenities of home and more. The basement includes a movie room with a 50" TV and five theater chairs, providing a real cinema experience. The home is within walking distance of the museum, hospital, courthouse, and down-town shopping, dining, or art galleries.
The back yard is a bird-watcher's paradise. The shaded patio includes outdoor furniture and is ideal for relaxing in the cool of the evening.
