A classic summer cottage in the perfect setting for a memorable Maine vacation. Rocky coastline, open ocean, and small private beach are just a few of the natural wonders at Barnacles. The cottage features Hand-Hewn beams and wide boards, original to the structure circa 1790. It was moved to its present location in the 1960's by barge. Located on Southport Island, a short drive from Boothbay Harbor, Barnacles offers spectacular views of lower Mark Island from the picture windows and open deck. Easy access to the ocean encourages you to explore the tidal pools or kayak the coastline. When you come to this little cottage, you will love the solitude and sounds of the ocean. After enjoying the incredible sunsets, get cozy by the wood burning fireplace or marvel at the star studded night skies.
THE HOUSE: Barnacles offers all the charm and grace of a true Maine cottage. Enter through the homey kitchen with its wide picture window facing the ocean. The half bath is located off the kitchen. To the left is the living room with working fireplace and more large windows showcasing the bold water view. The back hallway provides the door to the large open deck and steps to the path leading to the sandy beach. Off the living room is the bedroom with two twin beds and en suite shower bathroom. The loft (accessed by stairs in the back hall) overlooks the living room and has one Queen bed.
