Apartment Opera, also known as BRV CAM, is a 3-bedroom apartment in the historic center of Florence, only 1 block from the Arno and Piazza Santa Croce; a short walk from the Uffizi gallery, Piazza della Signoria, and Duomo; a 15-minute walk from the Accademia and statue of David; and a 20-minute walk from the train station.
This unique apartment sits in a private Renaissance palazzo, which was built in 1420 by Brunelleschi and restored in 2012.
In the 16th century, the Camerata Fiorentina group met in this apartment, which was the palazzo’s theater during the Renaissance. The Florentine Camerata created new musical principles, merging music to the 33rd Canto of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno and giving birth to Lyrical Opera. Historic scenic machinery still hangs from the theater ceiling.
This 2-level apartment on the second floor measures 3,400 sq. ft. The décor combines contemporary design with architectural details. The interior features Castiglioni, Flos, and Fontanarte lighting; Bauhaus-period furniture from designers Van derRohe, Eames, and Le Corbusier; a 17thcentury sofa; and 2 medieval statues. Meals prepared in the state-of-the-art kitchen may be served in an upper level dining area, which seats 6 guests.
The spacious master bedroom features a library, satellite TV, a queen-size bed, and ensuite bathroom with a tub. The other 2 bedrooms are each equipped with a queen-size bed, satellite TV, a private lounge area, and ensuite bathroom with shower. Original 18th century frescoes can be found in 1 bedroom. This apartment also comes with a digital safe, a washer and dryer, a water purification system, and WiFi.
Apartment Opera, or BRV CAM, has house cleaning services available during the week.
