As you pull into the driveway of Hakuna Matata, you will begin to relax. The level front lawn of this home is dotted with fruit trees and perennial gardens. Along the southern side of the home, a stone pathway wanders through a shade garden towards the hot tub, grill and lake front deck.
The front door of this year-round home brings you to the entry hall, conveniently set up as a mudroom. Tile floors, wall pegs for coats and towels, benches for shoes, and a stackable washer and dryer ensure that all of your belongings can be taken care of as you enter the home. To the right of the entry is a full bathroom with shower stall. The hallway ends at the kitchen, which opens up to the dining area and living room. Sliding glass doors off the dining area lead to a screened porch. A dining table with seating for six, mini refrigerator, side buffet table, and arm chairs make this a cozy spot for mealtime gatherings. Inside, the dining area features a wood burning fireplace, seating for six at the table, with room for an additional two people at the breakfast bar. Soft earth tones of beige and green blend from the dining area to the living room. Plenty of comfortable seating is centered around the view of the lake through the double sliding glass doors. To the side of the room is a flat screen television with cable and dvd player. Two skylights make this a light-filled room, and ceiling fans over each area of the great room help to circulate the fresh lake breezes.
Behind the great room is a bedroom with double futon. The green accent colors of the room extend through the large windows overlooking the gardens in the front lawn. French doors off the northern end of the living area lead to the second bedroom. Plenty of attractive wood furniture, queen bed, double closets, television and ceiling fan ensure your comfort. The lake is highlighted through the window, and access to the deck is provided through the French doors.
An open stairway off the living area takes you to two more bedrooms and a bathroom. At the end of the open hallway is a bedroom with two single beds, windows overlooking the front and side lawns, and doorway to the full bathroom with shower/bathtub combo. This bathroom also opens to the fourth bedroom, which features a queen bed, television with vcr, and private balcony overlooking the front lawn. You’ll want to wake up early and relax on the balcony as the sun comes up.
The lakeshore for Hakuna Matata is accessed from the newly-built lake view deck. The upper level of this deck can be reached from the bedroom, living area, or south side of lawn. A chimenea, dining table with umbrella and seating for four, and Adirondack chairs highlight this level. A comfortable resting area is located 15 steps down from the deck, and here you will find more chairs to relax and watch the lake. 5 steps from this level is the 6x80 ft. dock, which widens at the end and offers additional seating with an umbrella. Sun bathers will appreciate the swim ladder at the end of the dock. The natural waterfront features a firepit, boats, and comfortable seating.
Your friends and family will want to bring their bicycles, as there is plenty to see and do right around this home. Just a couple of miles south on East Lake Road is a great place for the family to eat, and there is also a state park offering a playground, museum, and miles of trails. Geneva is just a short, 8 mile drive to the north, and you will pass scenic farms, wineries and produce stands along the way. You can pass the rainy days in Geneva’s shops, movie theater, skating rinks and attractions.
