Our very clean, cozy cottage lies in the quaint village of Olcott Beach. We are located just steps from the beach and pier, and around the corner from the harbor and Olcott Marina. We provide all the essentials you will need for a wonderful get away!! Lake Ontario is great for boating, fishing, or just watching the beautiful sun set over the lake. We have great restaurants, some with lakeview dining. There is a beautiful park, amusement rides, popcorn stand, and several shops.
Lake Ontario lies 325 ft (99 m) below Lake Erie, at the base of Niagara Falls.
The word “Ontario” is Iroquoian for “beautiful or shining waters” and it’s no wonder that Ontario is the number one fishing destination in North America.
The Iroquois, who so wisely named Ontario for it’s “shining waters”’ also intrinsically knew that this area was a fishing paradise. In fact, of the 180 native fish species found in Canada, 144 can be found in the “shining waters” of Ontario.
Globally, Ontario contains one quarter of all the available freshwater in the world!
