Welcome to the Solstice House, where you’ll find the perfect home-away-from-home nestled in the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. With a prime location just minutes away from some of the area’s most sought-after attractions, you’ll be perfectly positioned for a memorable vacation.

Our charming cottage boasts almost 2,500 sq ft of space with three bedrooms, a bonus room, and two and a half baths, comfortably accommodating six to eight guests. You'll feel pampered by the simple luxuries throughout our home, including a Tempur-Pedic king bed, a spa-like bathroom with heated floors, and picturesque views from every window.

The upstairs bedrooms offer plenty of space and natural light, with a large shared bath featuring a deep soaking tub. The bonus room is perfect for kids, complete with two twin beds, family-friendly games, and a TV. 

If you’re in the mood for a cozy morning, our front porch swing or bistro table is the perfect place to sip coffee and take in the views of Sugar Mountain. Listen to the birds greet the day as you decide what adventures await!

Don’t miss the handsome wraparound deck with party lights and plenty of seating near the six-person Jacuzzi hot tub, stepping out onto a lower deck with Adirondack chairs circling a built-in fire pit. Hang your hammock or use ours and escape the day with a book or an indulgent midday nap under the trees. Just wake up in time to see the evening visit from our deer family who like to wander through! 

Your visit to Solstice House includes everything you need for a comfortable stay:

  • Fully equipped kitchen complete with high-quality pots and pans, blender, mixer, ice maker, toaster and three ways to make your morning cup of coffee — Cuisinart drip, Keurig pod or French press
  • Cocktail and wine bar tools and glasses (including hot tub-safe wine glasses) — just bring your ingredients!
  • Spacious laundry room with washer and dryer, plus a drying rack for hanging up wet swimsuits and towels

 

Stay connected with our reliable, ultra-fast wifi (500 mbps), and enjoy two Roku smart TVs for your entertainment needs. Our large, flat yard is perfect for yard games like Can Jam or cornhole (both included), and our dedicated workspace with a computer monitor is ideal for those who need to stay productive while away from home.

For those with mobility issues, only three small steps take you in from the garage and the main bedroom is downstairs with a walk-in shower and bench seat.

IMPORTANT NOTES: 
- Please note this homeowner uses a doorbell camera to monitor the driveway. No other cameras are on the property.
- This home is not pet friendly.  Thank you for not bringing pets into this home. 
- Guests returning to Solstice House qualify for a repeat renter discount.  Reach out for more information!
- Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax per night. 
- 4WD or AWD vehicles are recommended November-April. 
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers, crock pots or storage containers.
