Property Description

La Perla de Ballena (the pearl of Ballena) is wonderfully located south of Uvita in the Ballena (Spanish for whale) sector of Osa , Costa Rica. Guests love that every bedroom has its own private en-suite, views of the ocean and views of the swimming pool. Another feature of the home that is popular with guests is the large and covered patio, providing year-round enjoyment. Rent the property anytime of year (dry season, rainy season) and you will still be able to enjoy the outdoors, and the amazing Costa Rican jungle. Enjoy amazing ocean views, exotic wildlife (howler monkeys, toucans, scarlet macaws just to name a few) and comfortable living, in La Perla de Ballena. Guests will walk through the front door into the open floor-plan design of the living room and kitchen. The kitchen has a peninsula with seating for two, along with the adjacent dining area and table. Guests can enjoy the view of the patio, pool and ocean while preparing food in the kitchen. This space leads to the living room with its couch and SmartTV . The bedrooms are only accessible from the patio and every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom along with air conditioning. The Owner's Suite has a king-size bed. Bedroom #2 sleeps five (5) and has two (2) double beds and a single size bed. There is a bunk bed with a twin on bottom and a single on top. Bedroom #3 is a detached suite that has its own private bathroom, refrigerator and coffee maker and queen bed. NO PETS ALLOWED NO PARTIES Every vacation rental managed by Osa Property Management will have the following provided: Full bag of Costa Rican coffee (250 grams/8 oz/0.5 lb) Coffee filters Cooking oil Dish soap (sink) Dish cleaning sponge Starter set of dishwasher soap (if applicable) Salt Pepper Paper towels Napkins Shampoo in every shower Soap in every shower Hand soap at every sink Start set of laundry detergent Toilet paper One box of Kleenex per bathroom Trash bags Guests are responsible for replenishment of items. Important: Our properties are protected by a digital trust platform that enables Hosts, Operators and Guests to confidently transact in the short-term rentals space. Please note that once you have booked, you will be contacted by a representative to verify the reservation. Please make sure this is completed prior to check-in. Failure to do so may result in the reservation being cancelled.


After check-in with an Osa Property Management representative, guests will have unlimited 24 hour access to the home.


A 4x4 vehicle is REQUIRED to access La Perla de Ballena as the road from the Costanera Highway (Highway 34) is unpaved. Guests will drive approximately 8 minutes through beautifully wooded area while increasing in elevation to arrive at La Perla de Ballena. This area of Costa Rica does not have UBER and private taxis are not always available. Please contact Osa Property Management if you would like to secure private transportation during your time at this wonderful property, and/or transportation to/from San Jose International Airport (or any other airport).


Guests will meet with an Osa Property Management representative at check-in and at check-out. Osa Property Management will also be available from 7 am - 9 pm via WhatsApp group chat. Osa Property Management’s Concierge and Vacation Planner team will contact you after you have made your reservation. We will assist with making any necessary transportation arrangements from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (SJO), or from one of the two local regional airports in the area - Palmar Sur or Quepos - to the property in Uvita. We will also arrange all excursions/activities/tours with reputable companies in the area, provide a link for grocery delivery, and make reservations at any restaurant. Our goal is to make your trip to Costa Rica enjoyable and as relaxing as you want it to be.


Located in the hills above Ballena, La Perla de Ballena is surrounded on three sides by the amazing Costa Rican jungle.
