Property Description

Cascade sleeps 21 and was purpose-built for multi-generational families gathering near Lake Harmony. This 6-bedroom, 4-bath A-frame home sits on a quiet wooded lot in the southern portion of the Lake Harmony estates, set back just enough to feel like the woods and still 2 to 5 minutes from the center of the action. Three stories, 2,800 square feet, two master suites, a loft, and a floor plan that actually accounts for what happens when 21 people share a kitchen.

The Heart of the Home

The open main level brings the chef’s kitchen, dining, and living areas together so whoever is cooking stays in the conversation. A center island and a breakfast bar with overflow seating for three keep the kitchen functional when meals get logistically complicated. The dining area sits in a window-wrapped corner with views of the woods. The living area is anchored by a large stone fireplace with plush seating arranged around a flat-screen TV. Every bedroom has its own TV, and the smart TVs throughout run Roku, so the morning news crowd, the cartoon crowd, and the late-night crowd can each settle in on their own terms.

A second living space downstairs adds a vintage multicade arcade and a full-size pool table with another fireplace; close the door, let the teenagers take over, and the parents upstairs can hear themselves think.

It works as a home base for a large family; grandparents can sit in the shade while kids swim or use the floating platforms. For boat days, Lake Harmony Watersports (0.6 miles) rents 10-12 person pontoons, the easiest way to get the whole family on the water at once.
• Indoor backup plan: H2Oooohh! Indoor Waterpark at Split Rock Resort (1.4 miles) is 53,000 square feet of indoor water fun, with a leisure pool and hot tubs for the slower-paced crowd and big slides for the thrill-seekers. Works for any weather and any season; this is when the house is the destination.
• Easy nature for all ages: Austin T. Blakeslee Natural Area (4.5 miles) has a 3.5km loop trail widely considered grandparent and toddler-friendly: flat, scenic, with several waterfalls and picnic spots.
• The Boulder Field: Hickory Run State Park (11 miles) holds the Boulder Field National Natural Landmark. You can drive right up to the edge, so active family members can scramble across the rocks while others watch and take photos from the accessible viewing area.
• Low-effort, high-reward group ride: The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway (16 miles) runs a 70-minute narrated train trip from historic Jim Thorpe through the gorge. Best views in the area without anyone having to break a sweat.
• Snow days: Big Boulder Ski & Tubing (0.8 miles) is right around the corner. Snow tubing is the multi-gen winter activity because it requires zero skill: sit in the tube and go.
