Vacation Rental Description
Maine is called "Vacationland" - it's even printed on the license plates! Mt. Desert Island, home of Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park, is an incredibly beautiful place where people come to relax, to play and to appreciate all that nature has to offer.
"Spruce Lodge at Hadley Point" has been designed so that you and your family can stay in a wonderful & comfortable environment while you explore & experience all the beauty that surrounds you!
Our charming 3-level home has a bright, open floor plan where the living room, dining area & kitchen share one big space on the main level. Just down the hall is a lovely bedroom, full bath & laundry room. Upstairs is a loft with a balcony & large separate bedroom. Downstairs there is a large family room with game table & beverage refrigerator and a really great bedroom and bath.
All 3 bedrooms have queen-size beds, both baths have a tub/shower combination and we have a new "Boiler Mate" & furnace that provide all the hot water you could want!
Spruce green (of course) is our theme color and it accents "miles" of natural tongue & groove pine, fun wallpapers & clean painted walls! The furniture, dishes, art and collectibles that you will see were especially chosen with the Maine Woods in mind! IT'S JUST FUN AND ADORABLE!
AREA: "Spruce Lodge" is located 3 miles from the bridge onto Mt. Desert Island and 7 miles from downtown Bar Harbor. The Visitor's Center at the entrance to Acadia National Park is 5 minutes away. The Island Explorer which provides bus service to downtown Bar Harbor, other Island towns and Acadia National Park, stops just up the road. Ellsworth which is 12 miles away has more movie theaters, restaurants and shopping and don't forget the L.L. Bean outlet store, Marden's and Reny's which are all located on High Street! THEY HAVE "WICKED GOOD" STUFF!

FREE WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE. 4 phones, answering machine, 3 clock radios, stereo w/cassette & CD players, 4 TVs, 2 DVDs & 1 VCR player, cable TV, game table, cards, games, puzzles, tons of books & magazines. Deck furniture/umbrella, gas grill, separate lobster/clam/corn cooker (also gas) & all the necessary cooking/eating utensils! All linens are provided including beautiful quilts & shams, extra pillows & blankets and even beach towels. Supplies include all paper & soap products, flour, sugar, baking supplies, spices and teas! YOU WILL LOVE BEING AT "SPRUCE LODGE!"
Property Activities
The beach at Hadley Point is a public area where you can launch a boat, have picnics, sunbathe, skip rocks and watch for seals and other wildlife. This is a favorite spot for the kayak rental companies to start & end their day trips-it's fun to watch them come & go and...you might want to join them!
There are also freshwater ponds/lakes on the Island where you can swim or go boating and/or fishing.
You can swim, boat, hike & ride bikes on your own or go out on a whale-watching tour or a sunset cruise on Frenchman's Bay or participate in the endless list of activities/programs that are offered by Acadia National Park. DEFINITELY see the movie at the Visitor's Center!
There are fantastic restaurants, great shopping and even mini golf courses nearby. There is an awesome "Art Deco" movie theater located in downtown Bar Harbor and twice a week there are band concerts on the Village Green. Several art shows are held during the summer and cruise ships come into the harbor weekly! IT'S AN AWESOME PLACE!
