Vacation Rental Description

This oceanfront cottage boasts a private beach and mooring, fishing, swimming and exploring, an outdoor pizza oven that overlooks Casco Bay and its many islands including Eagle Island with Admiral Peary's impressive island residence.

Come stay at an idyllic private neighborhood on the beautiful coast of Maine. The property is located on the southern tip of Wolf's Neck in Freeport, Maine. Only 5 miles from Freeport Village, home of LL Bean and numerous outlet stores including Ralph Lauren, Cole Haan, Thomas Mosher and The Gap. Restaurants range from pubs to chowder houses to exquisite dining at such places as the Harraseeket Inn. For a little more excitement, Portland Maine is only half an hour away.

On the premises, a wood-fired pizza oven faces the ocean and is the focal point for many a memorable summer's eve. Children and adults alike can be their own chefs and enjoy food, family and beautiful Maine sunsets over Casco Bay.

Activities on-site include:

- a mooring for your boat
- kayaks to explore the Harraseeket River estuary and the islands of Casco Bay
- Biking, hiking and large grass area for the kids to enjoy

Other Unlisted Amenities

This home was constructed with the utmost of care to make as healthy and energy efficient as possible and was built essentially formaldehyde & allergen free and employed zero or low VOC products only when necessary in the construction process. It has HRV units to purify/dehumidify the inside air, gets the majority of domestic hot water from solar panels and all of the bedrooms except for the carriage house have optional 'kill' switches to cut power in bedrooms for those with electrical-magnetic sensitivities. The vast majority of construction products and services came from local sources and utilized as much natural or recycled materials as possible (99% of all the exterior stones came from an abandoned quarry of a nearby island). For those that stay in the off season, warm your toes on the radiant heated floors, enjoy the passive solar warmth from the abundant south facing windows, and don't forget the fireplace or wood stove if it is wood heat that does it for you.
