Our Best Family Vacations Have Been At Starpoint!
One Very Grateful Family Kennebunkport, Submitted: March 16, 2008
We have had the good fortune of staying at Starpoint the past 2 summers. Sebago Lake has been our family vacation destination for the past 15 years. My wife and I and our 2 sons have enjoyed many places over the years, but none compare to Starpoint! The property is AMAZING. The main house offers a HUGE family room complete with stone fireplace, a foosball table and a great family dinner table big enough to hold a dozen people. We have lots of wonderful memories of foosball tournaments, family camp dinners with lots of our kids friends, and monopoly marathons on rainy camp days. The main house is so big that no matter how many kids come and go during the week, everyone has a bed to sleep in. The kitchen has an old-fashioned breakfast set the kids love to eat at and hang out. The front porch is a wrap-around offering lots of seating, a grill, and 3 ceiling fans. Every night, we all sit on the porch and talk, laugh, and enjoy the spectacular views. During the day, there is a huge lawn for our volleyball tournaments, baseball, badmitton, etc. There are 2 docks to enjoy, offering lots of seating, great fishing spots, and just a great place to relax. At night we all gather at the outdoor fireplace for smores and the views on a slate patio with more seating. From one of the docks, it is a 5 minute canoe ride to the little local market (Gem's). This place is truly a Gem! Great food, family owned and operated, and EVERYTHING you will need for the week. Across from Gem's is Ray's Boat rentals. We always rent a beautiful speed boat from Ray for the week. Starpoint also has 2 moorings. The kids love to take the boat out for a spin with their friends and go tubing. We rent a tandem kayak for the week, and bring along a single we have for everyone to enjoy-a little island is nearby for exploring. The property also has 2 guest houses-each with sleeping quarters, a kitchenette, a dining table and a bathroom. These are perfect for our 2 boys (now college age). Each son gets a cottage (Port or Starboard) to have as their own space for the week. If you enjoy walking, there are many slate paths surrounding the property for relaxing and exploring. I could go on and on and on. Starpoint is truly a special place for any family. We always finish our week there feeling sad to have to go, but very grateful for our time spent. It is a place where our family can relax, laugh, and create memories. If you are looking for the perfect family vacation, you found it-Starpoint is amazing!
