This penthouse condo combines spectacular views and privacy while seemingly on top of the crashing waves. If you were any closer to the water, you'd be wet. The unit has two bedrooms and two baths as well as a living and dining area. The living and dining areas have wall to wall, ceiling to floor window views of the ocean. Dine out or prepare your meals in the units full kitchen or at the complex barbeques.
Watch the sea turtles and surfers from your living room or balcony, sunbath or enjoy one of the islands best snorkeling locations at the beach next to the condo, walk up the road to see the island’s blow hole. Between the spectacular views and sunsets and the soothing sound of the waves, you’re instantly transformed into vacation mode.
Enjoy a drink or dinner from one of the islands best restaurants and bars, The Beach House, located right next door. The popular tourist areas of Poipu are just a mile or so away, as well as the historic town of Koloa.
Kuhio Shores is located as close to the water as you can get. It is also not far, but separated from, the popular Poipu tourist areas. Located at the south end of the island your situated for a short drive to the wonderful waimea canyon area, otherwise known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. We had a wonderful time in Kauai, the condo # 414 is well equipped, quiet, clean, and the location is second to none, We have been to the Caribbean some 20 times many of which at ocean front locations, they all pale in comparison to your unit, why you ask…
Each day began on the Lanai (veranda/deck as we call it) with a cup of coffee and at the end of day with a cocktail as we watched those wonderful tropical sunsets. I must say it’s more than an exceptional view, almost hard to explain, but, we found it both soothing and very relaxing near mesmerizing, the constant sound of the surf, the daily turtles, every few days dolphins, entertaining surfers, and the rustle of the tropical palm leaves directly in front; missing it already.
The island has so much to offer for sightseeing, one can be as busy or not if you wish. In our two weeks we managed to visit many of the beaches, and left enough for another visit. The Na Pali coast is spectacular; no wonder Hollywood chose Kauai for so many motion pictures. The Kauai people are both friendly with a warm personality, I agree with Conde Nast magazine each year giving the Kauai people top marks for friendliness. Several times as we were out and about someone would wave and offer a smile.
I have seen the statement “A house is a place to store furniture” “A home is a place to store memories”; my wife and I have fond memories thanks to you we felt at home in Kuhio Shores.
We will most definitely be returning, and we would like to tell everyone your condo is the place of choice.

I just wanted to thank you for renting us your wonderful condo at Kuhio
Shores. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The whales were
particularly active and we enjoyed watching them from the lanai. There was
also a monk seal that loved wallowing in the sand on the nearby beach almost
every day.
Everything at the condo was so crisp and brand new and decorated
beautifully.
Thanks again and I will definitely recommend your condo to my friends who
plan to travel to Kauai.

We had a wonderful time and were thrilled with your place. It was well

with that.) I loved every minute of it and am envious that you can go

Hi Rick,
We have returned from Kauai and reality is rough!! Arrived home at the beginning of another snowstorm and when all was said and done, got 6 inches. We are ready to go back already!!
I did write a note in your guest log but since you won't be reading it until April when you go, did want to write you a note now. Where to begin?Can't say enough about Kuhio Shores- the total place, and location, the people and especially #210.
We had an absolutely WONDERFUL time!!! Your condo is SO attractive and comfortable and the view spectacular. Enjoyed the view both from the deck and inside from morning to night whenever we were there. The weather was sunny and warm with exception of a couple of brief showers.

Rick,
Just wanted to say mahalo for the use of your
unit 414! We had an absolutely wonderful
week there. We saw three whales from the balcony
the first afternoon, dolphins another afternoon, and
sea turtles every day. We snorkeled several times
from each side of the building, twice out past the break
and twice closer to the building, where we saw 10-15
turtles sleeping and swimming. And of course
more fish than we could count. What a treat!
We also had a wonderful dinner at the Beach House
(we were unable to make a reservation with short notice
but were able to walk in), and another at Roy's.
I want to compliment you on your choice
of mattresses - those are the most comfortable
beds I have slept on in a long time!

Rick and Kathy, thank you for your email. I have been meaning to write since our return home, unfortunately we had to return to work immediately. Byron and I thoroughly loved Kauai and your wonderful condo. The view alone was fantastic. We immediately felt comfortable and relaxed with all the conveniences of home. It really is a lovely condo. What a wonderful experience we have all had on your island paradise and your condo. Your condo is everything that it was said to be, simply put beautiful.
Your condo was beautiful I hope and pray that you find it in one piece. I do not know of one broken item. We left another boggie board for you and a couple of beach umbrelllas.Certainly if you do not wish them you can discard them.
We had a delighteful time on Kauaii. Ours kids all went ATV to many waterfalls, Copter tours, we all went on a Sunset Cruise with Captain Andy and many more things. But none of the items that we did ,none of the fun side trips and tours can even compare. Although each were fun they did't compare to simply sitting upon your laini and watching the turtles play in the surf, or watchin a monk seal get comfortble on the beach next door.
You have been bless by a wonderful selection in property and we all hopefully will be allowed to return and enjoy it once again.

Hi Rick--
We had an awesome time in your condo. It turned out that two women from my
church (Rhonda Lubberts and Mary Jane Pories) stayed in the exact condo in
February of this year. We saw their entry in the journal book you left for
guests and got a kick out of that. We saw them last Sunday at church and had
fun chatting with them about our trips to Kauai!
My husband is going on a business trip to Chile in August for two weeks and I
was kidding him about a trip to Hawaii in 2006 because he will be away for our
anniversary. He actually told me that he would love to go again, so now we are
planning another trip next year, likely in June. I can hardly wait to go
back.
Thanks again for allowing us to stay in your condo on Kauai. We really
enjoyed it and I look forward to another visit in the future!
